Do you think the Bush admin cringes every time Rummy does an interview?
Considering the guy has submitted his resignation twice already... Every time he does an interview he just continues putting his foot in his mouth...

- Iraq fighting could go on for years
- Negotiating with the "terrorists"
- When Cheney said last throes, he meant....

1. The 40 year Iraq war at $150 billion per year will result in...
...$6.0 trillion spent in Iraq.

Rumsfeld defended Vice President Dick Cheney's recent statement that the insurgents are in their "last throes," saying there are many ways to measure their strength. "If you look up 'last throes,' it can mean a violent last throe," Rumsfeld said on ABC's "This Week."

5. I see...
Didn't they say the same thing just about 2 years ago - you know, around when Bush told them to "Bring it on"??

Remember how we howled at the Orwellian double-speak when he said that the more violent attacks means the Rebellion, I mean, the insurgents were more desparate?

8. Not at all.
He is their star performer, given that whatever it is they appear to be doing is rarely what they are actually doing and their star obfuscation operator is always such a thrill to see in action. The war in Iraq and other ugly aggression they are putting America through are thoroughly real, of course, but their plans for running the world and and holding seven billion people hostage are not nearly so straight forward.
Putting out a host of conflicting misinformation is in keeping with both character and the notion that the resulting confusion and upset will, with the fact that most people will hear what they are attuned to and miss the rest, get them another ten percent on the popularity parade, which is still a small essential in governing.
That, along with the "you can fool some of the people all the time" rule keeps a 35% to 40% floor under their endeavors. That thirty five percent punctuated with intimidation and control of voting machinery coupled to a "piss on the opposition attitude," will serve to keep them in power, even though the faces may change.
A hard focus on the conflicting views may have some impact, but, since our non-rethug leadership is largely is sympathy with the majority of neocon notions, the buzz created by the more outrageous lies is merely the scum on the vast swamp of public deceit and probably helps them as much as it drags.
