TPM makes an interesting point
Frist's flip-flop yesterday was remarkable for a lot of reasons, but Josh Marshall sums it up nicely:

C) What does it say about Bush/Rove's opinion of Frist that they are now happy to humiliate him publicly on something close to a weekly basis.

Thoughts?

scroll down....

Frist has to know that appearing as Dubya's lap dog and a weak leader will eventually torpedo his Presidential aspirations.....but he keeps dancing to Dubya's every whim....is he being blackmailed?

Why is he so compliant? It's not in his best interest.

1. Here is a lovely headline:

Frist Has Lost Control Of The Republican Run Senate...

10. Have you ever seen an uglier bunch of people? They don't look
any better when they are pissed off. They were so busy patting themselves on their backs after stealing the election in November they couldn't stop smiling. I like this look much better.

They know they are getting the shaft from their own party leader. Priceless.

2. torpedo his Presidential aspirations
Can you say "Jebbie?"

They can't properly rig the voting if they can't keep it close enough for a Little Jebbie "victory" to be deemed plausible. Frist just gums up the works.

9. Jebbie has $8.8 billion to spend on his '08 run
the money mysteriously missing from the Iraq CPA under Bremmer.

3. Just sent an email to Fristy
Subject: How does it feel to be Bush's puppet (I originally typed bitch but changed my mind)

I'd like to thank you for making a fool of yourself and the Republican party. You are exposing yourself and your cohorts as the lying unethical people you are.

You have no chance to win as President (you didn't before yesterday).

Did I miss your apology for your video "diagnosis" of Schiavo? You were wrong... admit it. Shame on you.

End your political career now and go back to killing cats.

Flippity Floppity

4. Come on..
.... did Frist REALLY ever have even a glimmer of a hope of getting the nomination?

He is as inspiring and presidential as a geography lecture. He never had any chance.

I think it's much simpler. They want Bolton, no ifs, ands or buts.

8. The only way Frist gets the nomination is if they want to throw the
election.

11. He really is an ignorant ass... how could he not realize they would
sabotage him for Jebbie, the dunce head brother of the First Dunce?

12. Ahhh, but the trick was
for the Bush* administration to make Frist "think" that if he did their bidding then they would turn their machine on full force to make him the nominee....

...fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice...ya can't get fooled again......

6. Didn't Cheney say something about how they were going to
back in 08 the person most loyal to the Bush/Cheney team? So now the self-serving jerks are tripping all over themselves trying to please them.

7. Frist was the heir apparent in 2001
I know the guys working with the RNC to make it happen.

I don't think it's going to happen.

What a jerk Frist is.
