Rush Limbaugh asserts DSM are a fake....
....but that's because the RW propaganda talking points are all about discrediting the DSM.

Limbaugh baselessly suggested Downing Street memo "may be a fake"

Syndicated radio host Rush Limbaugh suggested that the Downing Street memo "may be a fake" and compared it to the disputed memos used by CBS in its controversial story about President Bush's National Guard service.

From the June 20 broadcast of The Rush Limbaugh Show:

LIMBAUGH: I purposely haven't talked about this Downing Street memo much because, frankly, a) it didn't interest me and, you know, if it doesn't interest me, I'm not going to talk about it. And the reason it didn't interest me is because it was just another one of these ginned up things by the libs, and it looks like it's got some similarities to Bill Burkett and the forged documents of CBS and Rathergate.

Later in the program, Limbaugh responded to a caller's question about the Downing Street memo by saying, "What is it? The Downing Street memo doesn't say anything, and it may be a fake. It may be a forgery."

In fact, multiple news organizations have authenticated the document, which London's Sunday Times first published on May 1. The memo records the minutes of a July 23, 2002, British Cabinet meeting, including British intelligence chief Richard Dearlove's statement that in Washington, "the intelligence and facts were being fixed around the policy." Since the Downing Street memo's publication, several related British documents have been published, which multiple news outlets have also authenticated.

1. If Rush says they are fake then I must believe they are
REAL!

I don't know why anyone listens to that big fat bag of blubber let alone believe anything he says.
You would think they would abandon him, after all he is nothing but an drug addict and should be locked up with the other drug addicts.

23. That is what I was just thinking...Takes one to know one, Rush
If anyone knows about fakes, it is Rush Limpballs. In the catagory of the beleivable, Limpy ranks about 20 spaces below WWE televised wrestling, and about 15 below Piltdown Man.

...any comment at all about DSM. His comments will now have about the same effect as a fart in a wind-storm!

6. He MUST...
keep the ditto zombies on the same page or all order is lost in Limbaughland. Would we expect Limpballs to tell the truth (for once in his life) or to continue his campaign of disinformation and outright lying?
The ditto zombies MUST NOT be subjected to the truth, or his entire ( and hence, bush's) house of cards comes tumbling down.
There will be more lies from jabba the junkie, as sure as the sun will rise in the east tomorrow. If not for lies, he'd be out of business.

22. I like!
"Jabba the Junkie". I work in the same building as our local am station that has carried Rush's show since he began and talk to and know all the employees there. (they know I'm a progressive democrat).

When referring to his show from now on I'll be calling it the "Jabba the Junkie" program, with your permission of course ;)

8. But Blair & Bush Acknowledged The Minutes/Memo...
... and that indicates that they are genuine. If they were fake, Blair & Bush wouldn't have tried to explain them away... they would have simply said "those are fake".

16. All that matter is that they plant the seeds of doubt
in enough dittoheads and soon enough it will be accepted has gospel.

This is all about getting the talking points to the base. It doesn't matter whether or not they are true. Just as long as everyone repeats them enough.

19. Bingo!
The Republican party owes Rush Limbaugh and other people like him 100% credit for their success. Alot of right-wingers don't have an opinion until one of these talk-show gasbags gives it to them. Then they all repeat the talking points verbatim. Dumb radio is very easy to listen to, very emotional and very popular. They don't need the truth; all they need is a pithy retort to repeat over and over and over and over......

18. Right Wing Myopism
Since the minutes weren't from an American source or document, of course they're fake. Not that we expected Rushbo to admit their legitimacy...he's paid to distort and debunk, we just got the same old drivel.

As long as this isn't an "American" story, many people have a hard time connecting to it. It's not the Pentagon Papers and there's no American names on it...so the corporate media doesn't have a target here to focus on other than the usual isolated suspects (Rummy, Condi, etc.) and even then their comments are second and third-hand.

Without a Douglas Feith or Richard Perle or some other face to put on the scandal, it's hard for people to glam onto it. Take a look at how the Repugnicans have demonized Democrats using one target (Clinton, Condit, Dean and so on) and just pound and pound. The minutes and the coruption of this regime needs a "butt boy"...someone the media can tear apart and open the door to getting to others.

In the meantime, right wing hate radio can and will deny the "memo" and there's no on there to contest them. Their echo chamber is solid.

20. I heard...
...that Rush Limbaugh is a big, fat liar. They couldn't have printed that if it wasn't true. :D

Rush, like many on the right, have begun to believe their own hallucinations. It's no longer a case of spin, it's a case of psychosis - and a nasty case at that.
