O'Lielly is getting reamed by a repug on the floor of the House.
On C-Span live I came in at the tail end of Rep Curtis Weldon, R-PA, going on and on about O'Lielly and his spin zone. Do not know what the disagreement is with O'Lielly but Weldon wanted on the record that he had better things to do than fool with O'Lielly. It is pretty funny - wonder how ol' Bill will spin this one - the repugs are now attacking him.

Anybody know what the disagreement is about?

I went to the store for groceries, came home, changed the bedding and put some laundry on - look what I missed! I hope there's a video floating around. Franken should land on this one with both feet!

Thanks for posting about it!

4. Weldon's a water carrier for RevMoon - maybe O'Reilly pointed it out.
Weldon's up to his eyeballs in the Moon - North Korea situation. Bush using Moon, but is probably not happy that the public will find out, since the newest edition of the American Prospect has it on their FRONT COVER.

8. O'Lielly keep banning people he will be sitting there on the set
all alone. I'm betting he has "issues" with the producer, the cameramen, the TelePrompter person, the janitor and the make-up person. Of course, that is probably what he wants. One long uninterrupted hour to spew nonsense without having to share one nanosecond with someone else. He will miss shouting, "Shut up." to anyone who ventures closer than 20 feet. (I think he practices that in the mirror each moring as he shaves.)

Anybody taking bets that six months from now O'Lielly will decide he wants to spend time with the "family?" His ratings are tanking and Faux News like people who make them money.

6. Weldon was scheduled to be on his show last night.
He bailed for some unknown reason, and O'Lielly (love that name LOL) banned him from the factor.

Whattya know, Ole Curt has some stones after all. Who knew. Bravo!

(Heard this on Stephanie Miller's show this morning, credit where it's due)

9. "Banned from the Factor"?
 WHAT PUNISHMENT! Like I'm sure ANYONE gives a crap if they're "banned" from O'Lielly's POS "Factor". Wild Bill thinks that's the worst punishment that can be meted out to someone. Just when I think O'Lielly can't be an even BIGGER tool, he always surprises me.

10. weldon wrote a book critical of the CIA
"Countdown to Terror: The Top-Secret Information that Could Prevent the Next Terrorist Attack on America... and How the CIA has Ignored"

Don't know much about it, but obviously Bill O doesn't think much about it and must've said so, thus triggering Weldon's response.

13. Two Weeks ago Timmy "EZ Pass" Russert actually did his job
with Weldon and questioned his source which sounded like the Iranian version of "Curveball"

MR. RUSSERT: One of the legitimate issues raised about Iraq, however, was: Was the information given to us about weapons of mass destruction credible and accurate? The American Prospect, a liberal magazine, has been reading your book and analyzing it and talking to people. "The Prospect has learned that the true identity of `Ali' is Fereidoun Mahdavi, formerly the shah's minister of commerce and, more importantly, the close friend and business partner of Ghorbanifar, legendary arms dealer, infamous intelligence fabricator, and central figure in the Iran-Contra scandal that almost brought down the Reagan administration. It was `Gorba,' as he was known back then to Lieutenant Colonel Oliver North, the rouge National Security Council officer, who lured the Reagan administration into secretly selling U.S. missiles to the Islamic regime in exchange for the release of Western hostages. ... `Mahdavi says that he has this network in Iran that he gets information from,' says Akbar Etemad `Each time, he says his information will come true in two months' time. But all that information is fake. Ghorbanifar and Mahdavi work very closely together. Ghorbanifar is unreliable. In that sense, he might be dangerous. The CIA shares that harsh assessment of Ghorbanifar. If the intelligence had any clue to Mahdavi's association with Ghorbanifar, it is scarcely surprising that its officials rebuffed Weldon's overtures on behalf of `Ali.' Many years ago, the CIA issued an unusual `burn notice' on Ghorbanifar, instructing its personnel not to deal with him and warning that he was known to spread false information to advance his own interests."

REP. WELDON: Well, the CIA created Ghorbanifar, so they don't have to come to me about that. They have to look internally. The CIA created Chalabi. Those are creations of the CIA. I'm not asking them to create anyone. My source is Ali, and it's more the process that we need to have to be able to have the CIA come back and tell us, "Give us the backup of your information. If Ali's lying, show me where he's lying." That's not what their memo last June said to me.

And so all I want to do is make sure that we're properly testing the agency, because I lost some good friends on 9/11. One of the pilots in one of those planes, wife and two kids still live in my district five miles from me. She teaches school. Her two kids, we built a playground in his honor. I have a very good friend, Ray Downing, who was the fire chief of all rescue on 9/11. He was killed. I'm not going to take a back seat. We're going to prevent the next terrorist attack only by aggressively challenging our intelligence community. Porter Goss is doing that. Porter Goss needs support. We need to change the way we do red teaming, group think, as Jim Woolsey has said and he endorsed my book, so did Jack Caravelli, a 20-year veteran of the CIA. They understand. If it makes some people feel some heartburn, so be it. That's my job.

MR. RUSSERT: One more point on the book. "`Many information that I have given to Weldon is coming from Ghorbanifar,' said Mahdavi, who was reached in Paris by telephone on June 6. `Because Ghorbanifar used me, in fact, to pass that stuff because I know he has problems in Washington.' ... `Someone is using me for their purpose,' he raged. `How is it possible that something like that book comes out and the people who publish it don't inform me?'"

REP. WELDON: Well, Ali knew what was happening. I'm not even confirming who Ali was, but Ali knew what we were doing clearly. What his association with Ghorbanifar, I have no idea, but I can tell you every Iranian in exile in Paris knows Ghorbanifar. Ghorbanifar has been at this since the CIA first graded him. The CIA is clearly embarrassed over Ghorbanifar. They told me that and clearly they think he's a liar and he may be, but I'm not asking the way of that information.

The information I gave the CIA has been proven to be true. We gave them a series of actions in every case. When they say he was getting it from open sources, we did a search through the Congressional Research Service of all those allegations and predictions. In every case, I gave the information to the CIA before any media worldwide reported it. I think that's worthy of further investigation.

MR. RUSSERT: The CIA says that Ali asked for $150,000 which they refused to give him.

15. O'Reilly/Weldon........

From The June 20, 2005 O'Reilly Factor:

"Well, I have some bad news to report. Our guest didn't show up. Congressman Curt Weldon, Republican, Pennsylvania, was supposed to be here, right now, in front of you. He didn't show up. He didn't call. Didn't do anything."

"This is grossly irresponsible. So, he's banned from The Factor forever."

"And we thought you'd like to know what kind of a classy guy the congressman is."

The Congressman even sent Billdo a letter:

Bill O'Reilly,

I have now witnessed the ultimate spin -- from, of all people, you.

My scheduled taping last evening between 6-6:30 pm was pre-empted by a prolonged 5:15 pm meeting with the Secretary of Energy Sam Bodman regarding important National Security issues related to non-proliferation activities in the former Soviet states and by a
series of 6 recorded votes on the Floor of the House that started at 6:30 pm and lasted until 7:15 pm.

Contrary to your spin, my staff did give notice to your staff of both conflicts and kept them informed of my status during the scheduled taping. In addition, my staff offered for me to appear as soon as votes ended. Finally when I tried to personally reach you, your staff was not willing to provide my staff with a suitable number.

As much as I would have enjoyed returning to your show, my job as a Member of Congress and as Vice Chairman of both the House Armed Services Committee and Homeland Security Committee is to cast my recorded vote on issues that affect our nation, in this case, the
2006 Defense Appropriations bill and related amendments which will fund our troops through 2006.

I hope you understand these obligations and I apologize for any inconvenience this unanticipated series of events caused to you and your staff.

Curt Weldon

It looks like O'Reilly was spinning, duh.
