I think I found why Dana Milbank has been so Nutty lately, check out...
this post, over at Democrats.com. Apparently, Milbank has been getting some Ugly e-mail from some RW Nut who is claiming to be coming from Democrats.com (or at least that's where Milbank thinks it coming from.

So Bob Fertik (I think that the guy who started Democrats.com) posted a very long thread of the angry e-mail, Dana Milbanks has been sending in response to Bob's requests for a simple correction.

1. Can you imagine how much of this kind of stuff they pull?
Wonder if he will expose it in a column.

2. I figured he was just another journalist on the chimp's payroll
But it doesn't matter. Either way, he's turned what is supposed to be the unvarnished truth of a news report into a personal battle. If the WP had any credibility, they'd fire his ass for doing it.

10. I agree, that was my first thought after that DSM/Conyers story
At the very least, he should take a Vacation or leave of absence, and the Washington post needs to set up some sort of system for filtering out that sort of vile personal attack e-mail.

3. So who's been flooding Milbank with anti-semitic e-mails?
Inquiring minds want to know.

4. I hate that Milbanks is getting anti-semitic e-mail but surely
a Washington Post reporter/columnist knows enough about the "internets" to realize that wackos come out of the woodwork when given the opportunity to correspond anonymously. If he is getting threats turn it over to the proper authorities for investigation but don't paint an entire group of people because of the actions of a few. And it seems he just arbitrarily decided that these emails are coming from the left. Prove it if you are going to accuse it.

And I would bet the over all number of email that Milbanks received about this - those anti-semitic remarks were a small minority of emails he received. How about discussing the valid criticisms instead of hiding behind a few hate spewing whack jobs as an excuse to ignore his misinformation and hack reporting?

Milbanks you choose to perform on a national stage, get a thicker skin, quit whining, and address the real issue of you biased work.

7. I have a fairly good Idea what group (groups) are behind this...
...and plan to write to MilBank.

I've been researching Media deception lately, and ran across a truck load of info yesterday at the Southern Poverty Law Center web site when I searched their site for "The Barnes Review."

They are an organization dedicated to History Revisionism, Holocaust Denial, and most recently, 9/11 History revisionism, and Anti-Bush e-mailings, disguised at LW hate mail, but actually coming from an Extreme RW group.

They have also been producing the site TBRNews .org, which reportedly reports "insider info" and make undocumented claims that target the "angry LW" activists, and have fooled a lot of people, including here.

Now you are probably thinking, Why would the Extreme RW be sending * Hate filled e-mails? The Extreme RW (neo-Nazi/History revisionist) are Furious with * regarding his continued support of Israel.

Bing!

Here are a few of my post from yesterday that hold some very good info and replies on this type of info:

5. Anybody else remember the Aaron Brown/MWO thing?
Same thing happened. Media Whores Online suggested that readers write him to thank him for something, I don't remember what. He took a big hissy fit and claimed he was getting all kinds of hate mail.

MWO asked him to show them the hate mail and it turned out to be just a few among many, many complimentary letters.

I was one of the many people who wrote to him and suggested that maybe some freepers or other right-wingers were trying to poison the well, but he wrote back in a very-high handed way and said "You don't really believe that." -- like we were all just automatically to be branded as low-down, hateful extremists instead of just regular people.

Then MWO asked people to send in the complimentary letters they had written and there was page after page of them. There must be some dirty tricksters coming from somewhere on the right who are trying to discredit the blogs.

6. I can't believe the extent that Milbanks will go to
to play out his personal battles in an important Newspaper. Also, that Getler and the rest of his management support his aweful reporting of the Downing Street Minutes meeting.
I feel sorry for any hate mail he is getting, but at the same time think he is digging his own grave. Quit digging Dana, get to the bottom of the anti-semitic tormentor and start reporting the news without tying it to your personal battles.

His Editor and himself should have retracted where they blame Democrats.com and also tell us how sorry he is for making fun of Conyers and the meeting.

9. Obvioulsy he has lost any semblance of objectivity
or fairness or accuracy or honesty.

Which means he has a huge problem with the truth.

For a journalist, this should be a career ender.

and how our wonderful Politicians are scarce to show up at their funerals and our illustrious leader has never been to one funeral of one soldier that died for his lying war...

14. I think that the #1 problem I have with * and his Stupid War.
The fact that he is too much of a coward to not only serve in the Active Air Force when he had the chance, but that when he took us to War on a Lie, he's too much of a coward to attend even ONE Soldiers funeral. A war that He started.
