Does Bush see himself like Richard the Lionheart?
I was reading about the Holy Crusades and found that the definition (according to wikipedia) is very similar to the way Bush has been describing his war:

"Since the 17th century, the term "crusade" has carried a connotation in the west of being a "righteous campaign", usually to "root out evil", or to fight for a just cause." (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crusades)

Maybe Bush really does believe in is heart that he is doing the right thing by invading other countries. I see him as a little megalomaniac with a Napoleanic complex.

4. I think Bush has a messianic complex
and is so brain damaged and generally stupid that he believes god talks to him and doesn't realize it's just cheney.

7. This made me think
of the movie "Real Genius" and the radio receiver they planted in the Fundy's teeth.

Has Bush had any recent dental work?

LOL

5. Bush doesn't know who Richard the Lionhearted is, but
he does bear a resemblance to Wiley Coyote and Bush would know who he is.

6. No, you are wrong about one thing:
Richard the Lionheart never knowingly lied his nation into a war of conquest. That, and he went to fight alongside his people. Died that way, if I'm not mistaken. Important distinctions, no doubt. I'd be much happier with his (Richard's) reincarnation leading my country than I am with Dubya. Oh, and Bush DOES believe that he's doing the right thing... Just like he believes that "God" is talking to him. I'll tell ya, something's talking to him, and it sure as hell ain't God...

8. Dunno 'bout that. He reminds me more of Prince John, the usurper.
Suddenly "The Adventures of Robin Hood" and Claude Rains's turn as King Richard's scheming brother springs to mind.

13. Well, there are some similarities
Richard I couldn't speak English; he fought his father when young; he spent most of his reign away from where everyone expected him to be (England, in Richard's case; the White House in the Chimp's); he embarked on a costly war in the Middle East in which he fell out with his allies; and it ended up as a failure, for which his country had to nearly bankrupt itself pulling his arse out of the fire.

Richard was killed when laying siege to a French castle that was defying him. Just saying, that's all.

14. There is a big difference though.
Whatever his other faults, Richard I had great physical courage and though a lousy strategist, was a terrific soldier who led his troops in person and was formidible on the battlefield.

Somehow I doubt if we're going to be seeing the Chimp tooling around Baghdad in a beat up humvee, dining on MREs and facing down insurgents with his M-16 in hand.

Also Richard was rumored to be gay. Oh wait a minute. Hiya Bulldog.

17. He could be
Though Richard didn't suffer from a Napoleanic complex he was a terrible king. He used England like a milch cow in order to fund his adventures. Sound familiar?
