Your recalcitrant Democratic Senators.
There is a telling couple of paragraphs in this article from Seattle.
http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/nationworld/2002340794_pohlmemo19.html
to whit:
-snip-
"Yet even as the political climate seems increasingly hospitable to anti-war talk, most Democratic leaders have remained mum on the British memos.
The silence of the loyal opposition is noteworthy. Even party Chairman Howard Dean, whose anti-war stance fueled his presidential candidacy, has steered clear of the memos.
-snip-
Michael Desch, a former State Department official who teaches foreign policy at the George Bush School at Texas A&M University, said by phone: "The trouble with most mainstream Democrats is that these people are up to their ears in Iraq, having voted to authorize force in 2002.So it's tougher for them to make hay now, because they don't want to face the 'flip-flop' charge or be asked to explain why they didn't know what the British knew."
(White House hopefuls Hillary Rodham Clinton, John Kerry, Evan Bayh and John Edwards all voted for the war.)

This is why we have to let them (complicit thought they may have been, at the time) say "We believed the President, and he LIED to us. Now that the truth is clear we must withdraw our support for this war."

I just sent this note to Hillary:

"It is with a heavy heart that I send you this note. I have been an enthusiastic supporter of yours for years. I even have a picture of you and my son from when you visited _______.I am concerned and confused by the fact that you seem unwilling, or unable to confront this administration on it's fraudulent and craven reasons for waging this war.

As the facts come in, is becoming clearer and clearer that our country has been hijacked by gangsters, out to enrich themselves at the expense of our treasury and the blood of our children. I sincerely pray that you will look into your heart and reconsider your lack of engagement in this, most basic of responsibilities."

We have to give them PERMISSION to vigorously oppose this misadventure. If you have a shy Democrat for a Senator, contact them.

the DSM was the Democrats way "out" of having voted for the IWR. Surely ALL Dems know this???? They must! I know Durbin and Obama do!

3. They'll be attacked anyway.. It might as well be for something
that will do us some good. (I personally prefer some nice flexible non-constricting flip-flops to iron-toed jack boots)

5. SPIN and too many Dems have fallen for it. Desch works for Bush.
Didn't you all HEAR what Bonifaz said at the hearings?

Bush can be impeached BECAUSE he didn't implement the IWR correctly or honestly and issued a false staement in an official document while addressing the reason he determined war was necessary and couldn't be avoided AS OUTLINED IN THE IWR.

It was laways WH spin to claim the IWR meant Bush had permission to do anything he wanted. he didn't. There was no blank check. It was SPUN that way to keep the Dems divided and infighting and BLAMED by the antiwar crowd while ignoring the truth that the IWR would PREVENT war if implemented honestly. The blame falls SQUARELY on Bush, but they SPUN the fight tocome the Dems' problem.

Thankfully, Bonifaz sees it clearly, and we can win this battle if we all get on the same page he is on.
