Committee that supposedly cleared Bush of hyping intel via the 911 report.

Repukes like Scott McClellan and the sheep are claiming the DSM is a non issue because the American Government cleared Bush of any wrong doing. However, this was not the case. The Senate Intel Committee was to further their investigation, and has not yet done so. Additionally, the committee did not have access to information contained in the DSM.

"All over the news the last few days has been concerns about weapons of mass destruction by virtue of the memo that was discovered," the Nevada Democrat said, referring to the so-called "Downing Street memo."

The July 2002 memo, prepared for Prime Minister Tony Blair, said President Bush had already decided to invade Iraq and intelligence was being made to fit that policy.

"Concerns about this administration hyping intelligence and Great Britain hyping intelligence cannot be dismissed lightly," Reid said, adding that it "is no small matter for us to learn whether Mr. Bolton was a party to other efforts to hype intelligence."

Bush and his aides, including Bolton, justified the invasion by saying Iraq's weapons of mass destruction were a threat to the United States, but no such weapons have been found.

I hope Reid will take up the banner in the Senate along with Kerry and others, to get to the bottom of this Presidents war crimes.

Off to watch the hearings on CSPAN ... again.

1. This is great!!
Go get 'em Reid!! I'm glad to hear of this!! I think Bolton was definitley a key player. At the time he was working in the CIA intelligence and Cheney went over their multiple times. I think that's why they're refusing to give out certain documents on Bolton.

5. so has Reid signed Kerry's list??--now that he has spoken a few words?
Just wondering.

Aslo, if Reid is serious about these minutes he will issue a press release, an interview etc etc. --not just a few words.

6. Don't know. I was referencing others actual efforts, not Senator Reid's ..
... words.

I agree with you that one can only hope he has signed the letter we've been informed Senator Kerry is discussing with colleagues and that Senator Reid will become ever more vocal in his support for the call for a "Resolution of Inquiry."

Peace.

13. Well I think it is good to show the relevance of DSM
to the questions surrounding John Bolton's nomination.

Sometimes it is helpful to place different pieces in front of a person and let them solve the puzzle themselves, rather than insisting on "solving" it for them.

For what it's worth, Reid's full statement on Thursday regarding the Bolton nomination can be found in the Congressional Record, pp. S6670-S6671, which can be retrieved from GPO Access by entering the page number.

9. Heyyyyy, yeah; what about the second part of those hearings?
I don't know, but this seems like a good time to complete that whole agreement.

What was the second part going to be? Oh, yeah: considering whether the intel might have been misused by policymakers.

Wow, that seems pretty relevant now, huh?

Okay. Gathering my notes.

:)

Thanks, mzmolly!

16. I believe that they were to be scheduled. Now is a good time to ask when,
I think.

Just so we're all caught up.

It's a critical time to make sure we follow through on ANYTHING that relates to the loss of American lives.

If we were to have a disaster only half the size of 9/11, it could claim over a thousand American lives.

than the worthless response Feinstein gave in a letter by a DUer.

Let's hope Reid doesn't let Bush and Bolton off on this.
