OK. I was talking to someone working on the campaign, speaking for him. Didn't hear it from the candidate himself, but...

What we need to do is continue to train the Iraqi security forces. Eventually, they will be able to take over and we can leave. When we leave, I was told, Iraq will be an independent country.

Whether Paul Bremer's laws preventing sovereignty would be repealed, or whether we would take our military bases with us when we leave was not addressed.

Discuss.

3. Yes, I remember.
This is a pointless idea, in so many ways. First of all, the resistance has almost certainly infiltrated the security forces, which is why they seem to know our plans. Every time we drop a bomb on one of the families of these people, they're going to be even more committed to working against us.

This plan is BS.

2. Hey, that's Lynn Woolsey's Plan!!!
Seriously, some people need to read more. It's on her web site. That's the only plan anybody in the House or the Senate has come up with.

It particularly sucks when some people can't recognize that just because you call something a withdrawal plan, it doesn't make it a withdrawal plan.

It also sucks because we need to be fighting the entire Bush Doctrine. The reason we're in this unilaterally is because that's the actual intent of the Bush Doctrine. Unilateral intimidation and expansion, first the ME then the rest of the world.
