See, a lot of this has been revealed in bits and pieces. People are more or less aware that Bush might have gotten the evidence wrong. They know there were no WMDs. Some are aware there were no al-Queda connections. Right now it's just a bunch of jumbled thoughts in people's minds.
But every time the DSM is read, it clicks with someone new. Suddenly the third or eighth time someone hears that the evidence was being fixed, everything snaps into place for them, and they get that sick feeling of realization, like the moment a parent realizes their child is lying to them. They haven't wanted to believe it, but suddenly they do.
We want an investigation. We want Bush to respond to Conyers' questions in writing, so we have something he can't wiggle out of. Then we have a point to begin the investigation. Any answer Bush gives will be a lie, because he is unable to reveal the truth. That lie, in writing, will make more people see what's going on.
In each person there is a critical mass point, where all of the evidence suddenly builds to a realization of who and what Bush is. The nation also has that point, when enough people, usually around 40% of the population, see the truth, and the nation begins to look at Bush as a traitor, war criminal, and worse, and the image of him as whatever the hell people think he is now disappears.
In marketing, there is a theory that any new technological item will be adopted by the population in a Bell Curve, where sales gain slowly at first amongst the more sophisticated citizens, then begin to catch fire when the mainstream catches on, then ebb as the majority has accepted it, and the few stragglers catch on. Historians have also used this theory to investigate acceptance of new religions, languages, etc, in a culture.
That's what will happen here, if we can keep the DSM and the hearings before the people.
Bush could be impeached. Politicians are very selfish, and will hang him in a heartbeat if it means their own jobs. Let people realize that Bush slaughtered all those people for nothing, and that he knew it was for nothing, and it will suddenly click, and Bush will be done, along with Cheney and the rest.
Right now the media is protecting him, but when they realize they can't any longer, they, too will join the feeding frenzy, trying to boost their ratings through Bush's miseries. Should be fun to watch. Well, not fun. Just vindicating.
