Hippies and Fonda, and they want the cold war back.

I read one columnist, I forget her name, in the Chic Trib some years ago where in a trick of time and space talked about those sixties and the Clinton Hippies. Hippies become Clinton and Clinton becomes a hippie. It makes sense when you see everything from the perspective of the fifties.

The right needs to have identifiable archetypes("Hippies" vs. "Upstanding, clean-cut 50's guy", etc)in order to understand the world. The truth is most folks, DEM or GOP, all fall somewhere in between those stereotypes.
