8. Making it web only controls dissemination of the facts and helps Bush.
Newsweek knows that the internet users know the facts already, so they aren't really advancing the story that much, while maintaining a facade of journalistic ethics.

The webbers will say, YAY NEWSWEEK!

The hard copy readers will STILL know nothing and the broadcast media takes its cues from the hard copy stories.

This is actually a quite despicable move on Newsweek's part.
