Bush billed US in campaign trips
dont know if this is a dupe or not.

More disgusting behavior!

http://www.boston.com/dailyglobe2/193/nation/Bush_billed_US_in_campaign_trips+.shtml

"The Bush administration spent hundreds of thousands of dollars from its health and welfare budget to stage presidential events around the country last year, most of which coincided with campaign appearances for Republican candidates.

A report released yesterday by the General Accounting Office, the investigative arm of Congress, identified 15 trips in which the White House asked the Department of Health and Human Services to pick up the tab."

2. I've seen this reported on the mainstream news
They reported that the bill is split between the president and the taxpayers because he schedules official duties at the same time/location as the fundraising events.

I did not read an attitude of either approval or disapproval from the reporter.

4. $100,000 vs $500,000
Clinton was raked over the coals for this. Yet his trips were somewhere around 30 that he billed $100,000 for, while Bush was something like l5 that he billed the $500,000 for. I also read another article where, again, the CIA said they had made a billing mistake. I don't know if it's all the same thing or not. Rangle can only check on the billing of one agency, HHS, that he sits on the committee for. Who knows how much more money has been spent like this. It's wild.

3. He is supposed to provide an accounting of trip expenses
and bill his campaign for anything spent which is not official business.

Standard operating procedure.
