Fox's spin on DSM - today:
The story ISN'T that they were lying to the American people and fixing the facts to match their invasion dreams..... The story is that there was inadequate planning for the "post war" period!

It's astounding how they twist themselves bass-ackwards to avoid acknowledging plain, obvious truth!

1. That'll do me.
Can't have a commander in chief who fails to protect the troops. Still impeach the bastard.

3. The only reason it's mentioned AT ALL..
is that we've pushed and pushed and pushed until even Faux can't ignore it. I would call any and all coverage of the minutes a win for our side.

5. Inadequate planning is better than nothing--negligent homocide?
These lying war criminals were in such a rush to get their paws on Iraq and its oil that they failed to listen to anyone who knew anything about the Middle East--or about war for that matter.

That's obvious and provable and could be a wedge to open the discussion into questions of fixed intelligence, motivations and dishonesty.

It's easier for the media to report that their leaders are incompetent assholes than that they are lying scum, hopefully, as this gets more into the public eye, that will come.

Downing Street Memo Mostly Ignored in U.S.
Wednesday, June 01, 2005
By Kelley Beaucar Vlahos

. . . "This is a test of the left-wing blogosphere," said Jim Pinkerton, syndicated columnist and regular contributor to FOX News Watch, who pointed out that The Sunday Times article came out just before the British election and apparently had little effect on voters' decisions.

"In many ways that memo might prove all of the arguments the critics of the war have made," he added. "But the bulk of Americans don't agree, or don't seem that alarmed, so it is a power test to see if they can drive it back on the agenda."

. . ."It's a little late," he ("Ellis Henican) said of the memo story, adding that people are resigned to the fact that the United States is in Iraq for the long term, regardless of what events led to the war. "We're kind of stuck."

They're basically admitting it's TRUE but that no one cares... I wonder what they make of the 500K signatures.

Edited on Sun Jun-12-05 07:13 AM by SlavesandBulldozers
I thought Rupert was going to take Bushco down?

(Sorry this was aimed at some over-excitable DU'ers who actually thought that Fox was going to pull a 180)

(on edit: see mzteris' post as the example of the story that had DU'ers saying these things)

9. (sorry, don't see that in her post)
I don't think ANYONE on DU expects Faux to do anything but spout the partyline.

11. LOL! That's NOT going to work for them.
It's in BLACK and WHITE on AN OFFICIAL DOCUMENT OF OFFICIAL MINUTES OF AN OFFICIAL MEETING! They aren't going to be able to spin their way out of this one and they KNOW IT! People have eyes and "most" of them can read and comprehend what the friggin' minutes say.

Lot's of dumb uninformed people (FOX watchers) will ask what that means giving us a perfect chance to explain. (Maybe printed in black and white)
