2. That list is embarrassing to a great extent. Rush Limbaugh and Dr. Phil?

3. And only one woman, Oprah. She is a nice lady but...
Matt Laurer just said on The Daily Show that Bush will probably be in the top five - and the audience booed.

Laurer also knocked the final 25 - Dr. Phil? Think the whole project has turned into another lame exercise similar to a popularity contest in junior high. The voters aren't interested in greatest Americans but pop culture icons. That Dr. Phil, Oprah and Chimpy even come in the top 1,000 is an insult to people who have really changed history and lives.

Boo, hiss.

4. Tough choices
and I can't believe * made the list of greatest Americans EVER.

Wouldn't it be great if FDR won, given the current attacks on Social Security...not that I'm suggesting anything...

5. FDR may very likely win.
As for myself, I voted for Eleanor Roosevelt, Thomas Jefferson, and Albert Einstein.

7. I had to go with FDR
as he saved the country from the great depression with the New Deal - which sill works today BTW. My other choices were MLK and that Jefferson guy.

8. I won't argue with you on FDR.
He probably deserves top honors. But I have a few problems with FDR, that I don't have with his wife. And how the "righteous" did HATE her!! Allowing for the "genteel" language popular with that sort, it was even worse than with hillary.

Since that vote was of no great import, I was going with my heart rather than my brain.

6. out of the list there
It's a close call between MLK and Tom Jefferson. The athiest in me pushed Tom over the top. He gets my vote.

9. I voted for FDR...
The freepers will vote en masse for Junior. He might win. That's sick to even contemplate.
