Spy on your friends or go to prison
"under H.R. 1528, the "Defending America's Most Vulnerable: Safe Access to Drug Treatment and Child Protection Act of 2005" introduced by Rep. James Sensenbrenner (R-Wisc.), if anybody who sees another person using a "controlled substance", or even hears that it happened, fails to report such use or hearsay to the feds within 24 hours, that person could find him/herself staring down the barrel of a two to 10 year sentence in the federal pokey."

"Hitler with Tits" -- ?

You sure know how to make a man with bladder issues suffer!

And a newbie, yet! What that more of our veterans -- like that slacker Pigwidgeon -- had the work ethic to put some effort into a sig.

Bravo! and I'll see you at Camp X-Ray.

8. Hey, DUers, report this!
I heard last night from the aliens living in my sock drawer that REP. F. JAMES SENSENBRENNER (R-WI) was planning to "score" a big supply of muggles, mooters, skank-weed and Vitamin J sometime real soon.

You now have 24 hours to report this to the local Law Enforcement professional of your choice.

(Yes, Power Rangers count, but due to a recent PeTA court petition, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles do not.)

11. How can they prove it?
How could they prosecute this? They would have to prove that you saw something or heard someone talking about drugs - very difficult to do.

My guess is they would almost never be able to prosecute someone on this, but would use it as a threat. "You're going to tell us everything about your friends or go to prison" type of thing.

16. Have you heard about the Patriot Act?
Seems as though the simple act of someone dropping a dime on a "perp" would be sufficient to kick in an under-the-radar sneak and peek for damning evidence in a person's home, email, etc.

This is outrageous. It'll never fly.

Yeah right...

13. What if I'm on hallucinogens at the time?
If I drop acid, and I'm fairly sure that I saw both the couch and the man on TV drop acid while I was peaking, do I report them both? Or do I just report the man on the TV, discounting drug use by inanimate objects?

14. That's a little hard to see
I mean to see that it's a controlled substance. And what I hear would be impossible to prove in court (I'm a little hard of hearing).

15. wonder if any of those pot smokers have guns
Edited on Tue Jun-07-05 10:49 AM by Syncronaut Seven
Cause the last time they passed a stupid ass law (3 strikes) The cops found themselves getting shot at a WHOLE lot more. Not to mention the inevitable increase in high speed car chases.

Desperate people do desperate things, might as well just criminilize breathing.

18. Let me get this straight...
If this bill passes if you even hear that drug use happened the feds want to hear about it or you will be facing jail?

So if I were to run into a crowded bar in New York and shout for everyone to hear, might even be worth using a megaphone here, that George W Bush smokes crack everyone in the entire bar would either have to report that to the feds or face jail time?

Could make it a competition, see who can force the most drug reports in one evening on specific RW celebs. Each person takes a celeb name, goes around shouting about their drug use. The person who's celeb gets the most reports by the end of the day gets a cookie.

Incidentally, isn't Insulin a controlled substance?

24. I called Sensenbrenner's Washington office
Telephone: (202) 225-5101

I let the phone answerer know that, 1) I was not a constituent of the congressman, but that, 2) I'm not the only person paying attention to HR 1528 and that we didn't care for fascism in this country, and that we'd be watching.

If this Nazi fuck got 12,000 phone calls this week, he'd issue a "clarification" so fast his head would spin.

I encourage everyone to call him.

I also called my local bushbot congresswoman's office to let them know we're paying attention.
