Poll question: What kind of plan/outcome did the Bush cabal expect with the Iraq war?
We know that the war in Iraq was on Bush's mind since day one (PNAC, DSM, etc..)

Put what kind of outcome did they project?

1. Other: they are all clueless hacks who use magical thinking as a plan
"If we say it often enough and long enough and loud enough, everybody will buy the same bullshit we convinced ourselves of a long time ago."

Gods below, I *hate* those people. :grr:

5. indeed
I remember Pat Robertson saying that that right before the elections. Something about how Bush told him that he didn't expect any casualties...

4. The war was designed as an issue to defeat the Democrats
They exploited the tragedy of 9/11 to create an issue for lots of Americans to rally around. Bush took voters who would have voted Democrat otherwise in 2002 and 2004. I think it is called "waving the bloody shirt".

6. Big profits, a strategic foothold, and an impotent Iraqi population
that could safely be ignored.

7. The thing is, all of these except the second one, seem to be true.

The war is good for the corporatists, they did want it for a re-election, they do want His Fakery to have this legacy, they had no plan for the aftermath ABOUT THINGS THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT -- like our troops, and the Iraqi people and infrastructure.

I don't know if they thought it would be quick; they probably wanted it to last long enough to bail out Haliburton's asbestos problem and spread some bucks around to their cronies.

8. It is kinda crazy
that they had the multi-billion dollar budgets of the Pentagon & State Dept, yet they didn't plan for the aftermath of the war...?! It's like having a govt run by people with ADD.

11. It looks that way but begins to make sense if you look at their
priorities. The Cabal wants Bush to look good, they want to fleece Iraq (as they want to fleece us) and maintain control of the resources they're harvesting.

What do they care about infrastructures they don't need or about troops they can replace or about one more dead Iraqi?

9. Air bases within moments of Tehran and Damascus; and oil. As long as ....

... We The People allow them to continue, they will continue doing exactly what they planned.

They could care less about the troops (seen any of them at a funeral?); they could care less about the Iraqi's (seen them building anything other than corporate HQs in the green zone or air bases?).

And, very importantly, just envision how much quicker a B52 arrives over Tehran launching from Tallil rather than Diego Garcia -- I assure you the mullahs have.

Peace.

We have all the evidence of mendacity and illegal war-making we need to indict and prosecute Bush, Blair and every other neoconster scum-bag on the planet having any involvement in the Bush's illegal war on Iraq and all the torture and other atrocities that have been committed since August 2002.

13. I think there are two factors
I think it's very good for his business buddies and he thought it would be quick and easy since the Iraqi's had no army and all that and he knew this. Sadly he was mistaken.
