1. They'd generally have an equal chance
but in GOPAMERICA, you don't get to wear a nice suit at a young age and be honest, too. If you start out that way, you sure as hell won't be allowed to stay that way. It may be insidious, but it's there.

2. Raises a good point. Just cause a person looks like a bum does
not mean he is. Looks can be deceiving as we are witnessing everyday with these nicely groomed politicians.

3. if someone is wearing a tie, they are either con men or someone's bitch
it was the only thing I didn't like about Howard Dean--but at least he didn't wear a suit jacket and he did roll up his sleeves.

prefer to take out to dinner.

He'd have to lose the Yankees cap though. Go Sox!

6. the question is which LOOKS more honest.
Person A looks like he is trying to sell me something or convert me to his religion, political views etc. Person B has no apparent agenda.

7. I don't know if it's exactly bigoted, but it's ridiculous to make that
kind of judgment by someone's looks.

8. You can't tell honesty by seeing a face.
But I tell you one thing, Person A is probably a repuke and Person B is a Democrat. :-)

9. so I'm a bigot
but I just don't trust suits. Not to mention ties. After all, who does most of the stealing?

Ten years of Catholic school ruined me.

13. As our wise leader once said
"Just because somebody is poor that dudn't necessarily mean they are a killer!"

That's the way these a-holes really see poor and working people in this country.

15. hmmm......
well.

person a looks like he'd be willign to sell me his mother in perferct workign condition for the low low price of $19.99!

person b looks like he would have some great stories about the aliens coming to save us from the end of the world, in between vietnam flashbacks.

So in closing - i'd pick the yankees fan. Cuz anyone who digs the bronx bombers can't be all that bad. Besides he looks like he would totally believe what he was saying. the first guy? not so much. he jsut wants to make me believe.

16. Taking this as the purely superficial exercise that it is
Edited on Wed Jun-01-05 02:28 PM by olafvikingr
the nicely dressed young man appears to be pushing some "Go team" bullshit which is almost always isolated from any real relationship with the truth. I see conformity and pressure. Be like me, think like me.

In the seocond shot, a caption in time, my initial reaction tells me I see honesty all over that man's face. I see someone with a story to tell. I see someone that may have had some hard luck, but has not conformed. This may be good. This may be bad, but it is likely true to himself. He is not just telling you what you want to hear.

Go Yankees.

17. A linear look at it...
In order to make this more interesting I would have to make 2 assumptions:

1) that neither person A nor person B have mental problems.

And given the phrasing of the question one must also assume that

2) their honesty has had some kind of impact on their social status.

Person A may be honest or dishonest, since a mental stable person might very well continue doing whatever he's doing as long as it rakes in the bucks.

Person B probably is honest since if he were dishonest, and mentally stable, according to assumption B he would change his behavior to alleviate his devastating social status.

That's why I answered B.

19. Person A looks like a salesman who'd say anything to get me to buy
from him. I can't imagine what Person B would have to lie to me about though. Not sure if this makes him "more honest" but it makes him "less likely to lie to me."
