Well, I Won an Election at my Local
Edited on Mon May-30-05 09:25 PM by louis c
As some Duers know, I am the President and Business Manager of my Local, IBEW Local 123 in Boston (Suffolk Downs Racetrack).

I was re-elected Saturday with 80% of the vote (125 to 31).

This is a prelude to my School Committee run in my home town of Revere.

I'm telling you this because I've been so busy with these two campaigns that I haven't posted in nearly a month, and I certainly miss you guys.

Just checking in to say all is well here, and I'll post any news items that I think are interesting in my campaign.

All politics is local, and I've been ringing bells and knocking doors every night.

I had to post this just to visit with you so good night and I'll read your posts in the morning.

louis c

14. I'm not that good
I'll be satisfied with winning this next race.

It will, however, give me a platform and organization to support candidates that do agree with our more progressive agenda for working Americans.

I'm surprised at how easy it is to talk to folks about their concerns.

It's almost like DU without the keyboard.

16. Thanks
Just came back from knocking on doors tonight (Tuesday).

You know, the more of us that can get involved in our local elections, either as candidates or supporters of like minded candidates, the stronger our base will be for the bigger fights.
