25. Facts can be your friend.
"these weapons were made exclusively for the Military"

Uhhmm, no, they weren't.

Take the time to research it yourself rather than rely on information gathered on TV.

Or, they are good things to have in case a herd of rampaging elephants enters their neighborhood.

20. Gosh, why stop at rifles? ... Why don't they open the wide wonderful
world of Field Artillery Armaments to the gun nuts? <eg>

Talk about devastating destruction = it's the aftermath of a Field Artillery Barrage. Whoa! "There goes the neighborhood" could take on a whole new meaning.

11. Ultimate sniper rifle...
It's fun to shoot a monster like that .... the wind doesn't effect the bullet.... it shoots accurately over an incredible distance. There's whole cult of paper-target guys who love to shoot at long ranges.

Now... let's see... if we make those weapons illegal and get them all back, it's going to take some fun away from a very small group of people, but will make it safer for the rest of us.

Gosh, which way will the dumbfucks in this country choose?... Fun for a few, or safety for all...

But I am enamored of the idea of developing the ability to shoot accurately at long range. I've shot a .50 and dang, that makes a heck of a noise and kick. No way I can shoot that without flinching.

Despite the accuracy of the round and weapon, I'm more accurate with something smaller.

However, at some point I'd love to be able to work my way up to that. Something mystical about placing a bullet on target at ranges like that.

16. We're getting one this week
Seriously.

It will be delivered this week. My husband the gun collector, saw the 60 Minutes thing the first time it aired, and had to have a 50 caliber. Apparently so did a lot of other people because the wait for the thing was months. I have no idea what he's going to do with it besides stash it in his gun safe--the gun range he uses won't allow them.

17. I had the opportunity to fire one while on Active Duty ... Whoa!
Hey, nobody likes death and destruction but firing a Cal 50 is quite a rush. I often joke that I'd like one mounted on my roof if we ever experience a "Christmas at Ground Zero." :nuke: But please forgive me ... I'm into dark and foreboding humor. ;)

Nope, I can see NO reason why any civilian should desire a 50 Caliber rifle (tripod essential for accuracy) ... it is no good for hunting, just an effective weapon for killing (and shreading). :hide:

19. they are not a hunting rifle.
they are for killing men.

I saw a 60 minutes report a while back that showed this guy who was the arms dealer for an entire army, buying them from the US and shipping them overseas. That may be the same one thats on tonight. A 50 cal. is for killing people, simple as that. I guess theyre collectible also

These things would rip an elephant in half.

I certainly don't' need one, but then again there's plenty of other things I (or others) don't need.

Legislate on fear and need 9or lack of)... there's the ticket.

More nanny state high-horse mentality...

More power to the sheeple...

More BS...
