Pitcairn sex convictions stand, court rules
Pitcairn Island has a population of 47, most of them direct descendants of Fletcher Christian and his band of mutineers who took over the British naval ship Bounty in 1789.

2. Gee...
...paying the price for what their ancestors did, huh? Does that mean, American's who had ancestors who had slaves back in the old days, should pay the price too?

You comment certainly isn't very liberal like.

These guys are wrong for what they have done on the Island. And yes, they should be punished for the crimes they themselves have done. But to pay the price for what their ancestors did, certainly isn't right.

3. pretty light sentences, really
some just community service.

Seems the main victory is having them convicted at all.

4. try to tell me Britain would give a flying fig
about incest on a tiny Pacific island (population 47, most of them descendants of Fletcher Christian) if it weren't for that little incident back in 1789?

"The case is still due to go before the Privy Council in London either later this year or early next year on another appeal against Britain's jurisdiction over the island."
