Re: Cloture Vote And Filibuster Imbroglio... Which Day This Week ???
I know that the 12 moderates (Gang of 12) will be working Monday to avoid the drive off the cliff, and that Tuesday the Pukes may well be seeking cloture on any filibuster of Just-Us JR Brown, but is that the day the filibuster dies if that is to be???

Or will they hold the 'ruling from the chair' on a different day??? Will there be debate? Hell... will it be televised???

Thinking about taking a day off work to watch the death throws of Democracy.

Anybody have a time-line of events this week? I realize the situation is still fluid, but what does it look like as of this moment?

1. It will be Tuesday
The senate reconvenes Monday at 11:30 am et. for more debate on Owen. I understand there will be some sort of procedural vote Monday afternoon.

The vote on Owen will be Tuesday, not sure what time, we'll probably know Monday afternoon sometime. The senate is usually called to order at 9:30 am et. C-span2, as always, will broadcast the session from the senate floor.

2. It will probably all go down on Tuesday.
Timeline is questionable. Just stay tuned to CSPAN-2 all day and you're not likely to miss much.

3. Tuesday is Dicky-boy's normal scheduled day to visit the Senate.
although I understand there have been some questions about Cheney's attendance record at Senate in the past, I'm positive he will make this visit.

4. This is what I "heard" on some media,
probably radio. Frist said The Option will be deployed on Tuesday, but that the Senate would be 'debating' well into the night -- meaning 'all night.' I don't know what that means, but I did hear Tuesday 'reported' as The Day.

Maybe the Senate will be 'debating' for days and days until Rove smacks all the Repukes in line?
