Getting pissed over the Koran Story and Con OUTRAGE!!!

Great, now we can't even be sure that the newsweek article was false.
Seems that that one informant from Newsweek was far from the only source claiming that the Koran was desecrated.

A former interrogator has confirmed to the New York Times that copies of the Koran were once tossed on the floor in pile and mistreated. Meanwhile a report from last year issued by the Center for Constitutional Rights also cited Koran abuse. A former British detainee said "The behavior of the guards towards our religious practices as well as the Koran was also, in my view, designed to cause us as much distress as possible. They would kick the Koran, throw it into the toilet, and generally disrespect it."

and now we are hearing that the riots may not have been spurred by the Newsweek report like we have been told but by "political reconcilation"

It's actually hard to know what to beleive since the more official< " the source, the less anybody is able to keep thier stories straight.

Of course, I expect politicans to prevaricate and reporters to get it wrong or underpressure, retract a story that is true when it literally blows up in thier faces (if I thought saying something that was true had caused riots and deaths, I would be tempted to retract it too)

But I guess what I knievely still get surprised by is the utter BORG like mentality of the Shrubbery and it's supporters to turn on a metaphorical dime when it comes to things liek this without thier heads all exploding. To become Outraged..I mean OUTRAGED!!!!!! at the deaths and rioting sparked by a news story..yet if Shrub had admitted this happened himself..we would have had Cons rationalizing that desecrating the Koran wold save lives and the riots are just Muslims extremists and the deaths..well, this is WAR after all. And anything is justified in war.
Why wouldn't I? it's not like several shrub supporters haven't told me these exact same things. it's not like some official from the shrubery like Rummy or Cheney or the Houseplant himself haven't said this to excuse thier actions.

But now this OUTRAGE can be used by the Shrub for political advantage. Now whenever anybody reports anything unfavorable about what Shrub is doing, the cons can fly out like angry bees and denounce the story as UnAmerican and provoking violence. I especially find rumsfeld's saying that words have consequences interesting. for one, it seems he know cons won't hold his words to stranderd. It als means that they won't bother to consider that actions have consequences too.

Hypocrisy is indeed, it's own reward.

Indeed, shrub supporters still can't seem to make up thier collective minds if they wanted to liberate iraqis to kill them all as terrorists. (They seem to have forgotton anything about WMDs, that's for sure). Indeed, only in Shrub's world can NOT wanting thousands of innocent iraqi men, women and children to be bombed, mutilated and tortured mean that one is "Defending Saddam". Only a con can think that "Freedom" means killing large scores of people oppressed by a dictator that wouldn't even have been in power without US aid.

So the next time I hear another shrub supporter tell me about how they are OUTRAGED, I'll just chalk it up to the hive mind talking.

2. The allegations that military interrogators threw the Karon into....

... the toilet or in some way desecrated the symbols of Islam as not false although Newsweek's story may not have gotten it right. Now, Newsweek is the scapegoat based on dis-information about the real facts. This will set the investigations back or may even cause them to be swept under the carpet in the name of national security.
