"Is new ‘Star Wars’ an anti-Bush flick?"
"By Jeannette Walls
MSNBC
Updated: 11:03 a.m. ET May 17, 2005

While “Star Wars” fans squabble over whether “Revenge of the Sith” contains any anti-Bush messages, one central figure has weighed in on the debate: Hayden Christensen, the actor who plays Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader.

When the Ottawa Sun asked Christensen if the flick “takes metaphoric shots at the war-mongering politics of U.S. presidents Richard Nixon and the two George Bushes” the star answered: “Absolutely.” "

Sorry, Michael, but comedy is not pretty.

4. Lucas uses prototypical caricatures of good versus evil
Edited on Tue May-17-05 10:47 AM by jobycom
And Bush and his crew fit the prottypical image of evil perfectly, so yes and no.

On edit: should have said "archetypical" since Lucas was reportedly into Jung and Campbell when he created the story.

7. Yes. That's why I want to see it.
A phony war - The current situation today

This situation is being manipulated by the man 'fighting' it - The Clone Wars vs. The War on Terra

It is my belief that General Grievous is the personification of the Neo-Conservative Movement

There are many others, this will be an excellent movie.

10. Greivous...
...I don't know about that. Grievous is a pawn, a sickly pawn hated by the Sith that use him. Perhaps that is how BushCheney view the neocons, but I think it's more likely that Cheney/Rumsfeld/neocons view Bush as the sickly hated pawn, a useful idiot to them. So technically, Bush, for me, fits the General Grievous character better. He's utterly dispensible, vile, and his voice grates upon ones nerves. But I don't think there are any real one to one correspondences, but as mentioned above, overall archtypes.

11. The French would find an anti-Bush message in "Blazing Saddles"
It's a Star Wars film; all characters speak in cliches. Bush speaks in cliches. I mean, there you go.

I'm still as giddy as a school girl.

12. "Blazing Saddles"
Hmmm, would that be in the farting scene? (or was that in "Paint your Wagon" I get those two confused sometimes).

13. LOL! No "Paint Your Wagon" is the film where Lee Marvin and Clint Eastwood
sing. It only sounds like farting.
