Kerry voted for some of the base closings in a bi-partisan effort to reign in defense spending, as part of the peace dividend brought on by the end of the Cold War. (1991?)

He worked with the GOP and a decade later they screwed him royally for it in the elction sham of 2004 by using these votes to portray him as not being strong on defense. No mention of Cheyney (except on here, AAR, and the rest of the reality based community) no mention of Poppy or that this was a GOP policy. And true to form, that durned lirul media (HA) and their bias played right along with this bullshit.

This has been another episode of Reaching Across the Aisle and Pulling Back a Bloody Stump Theater. Are you reading this Harry Reid?

Hello?
