question about clark and candidates in general..
what's to prevent a candidate from declaring one party, and just ignoring it when they get elected?

we all know that campaign promises are a friggin joke, so why would party affiliation be any different?

the reason i say this is i noticed that clark just recently declared is democratic party alignment, but he doesn't appear to have a record to support it. voted for reagan, and possibly bush..

i know this is far-fetched, but could he be a trojan horse?

1. Look at Bush
he doesn't really pay heed at all to his own party principles.

Then again he didn't get elected either.

2. right wing people think this happened with Bush
given his "liberal-esque" binge spending and such.

But to your question, I don't think so but there is simply no telling what sort of commodity we have in Clark.

3. Which is why it is important to fairly scrutinize him.
If there are going to be any surprises about Clark, I'd rather find out about them now.

The same holds true for Dean, or anyone else.

4. It is absolutely stunning that so much glee
could be bubbling over for a Democratic nominee that voted for Reagan and possibly Bush. With all the party has endired for the past years why the enthusiasm to give it away?

Is it the blindnes of celebrity?

5. in fairness
the glee is tied to his electability in the face of this onslaught of "patriotic fervor". we all know how patriotic people feel when they support the invasion of foriegn countries and the killing of it's citizens. a military man just seems to get people all riled up..

it's a shame, cause kucinich could most likely do more for this country than anyone in recent memory, but he's short and uncompromising.

i'm moving to france, the hell with everyone..

6. i don't think it's far-fetched
Clark helped raise funds for the repubs only 2 years ago...

what has he ever done for the dems? has he ever raised funds for the party he now wants to lead? or is this affiliation a one-way street, with the dem party providing a vehicle for Clark's ambitions. only a month ago, Clark wouldn't admit he was a democrat. now there are all these people fawning over him like he's the messiah.
