Al was on my local public radio station the other day and I was pleased to hear him go into how he and his student team tracked down R-W lies. Since I teach research and writing, I am showing my students how to use MLA style to document their work.
Al talked about how Ann Coulter brags about her books with 750 end notes. End notes, Al pointed out, are different than footnotes. Regardless, the students and Al tracked them down and the stories of the exaggerations and lies are both hilarious and horrifying. He summed it up by saying that r-w'ers like Coulter count on their readers taking them on their word. Coulter obviously thinks little of her own readers--she obviously thinks they are such dolts they wouldn't check out a footnote, errr, end note.
I hope Al goes into this in detail tomorrow as it was definitely worth listening to. I'm asking the students to listen to the show so they understand the humiliation of getting caught lying and plagiarizing.
