I was complaining to my hubby about the attack on the British consulate in NY.
First thing I have to say is that thank god * is making us safer! :sarcasm:
My real complaint is that the news reported it quickly and then it was gone. So let me get this straight: A few years ago NY was under attack and we still haven't quit hearing about it. TWO. Not one, but TWO. Yes, I said two, as in the number of planes that flew into the two towers. That number is two! Two bombs go off in NY and I have not heard anything since that day. Admittedly they were small bombs, but I would still think this would be big news after the other attacks.
We have had times in our country where no attacks have happened (Ohio and the elections come to mind) and they have battened down the hatches.
Why has this not made headlines? "Bush Says We Are Safer. Two Bombs Set Off In NY" Yes, I understand about the corporate media but this was at least mentioned for three minutes between the MJ trial and the runaway bride fiasco. I have not heard anyone complain about the lack of coverage on this. Even if I were one of the sheeple, I would wonder if I need to brace myself for more and more attacks from these terrorists. Why isn't everyone up in arms asking * what he is going to do about our country being under attack again?
Don't get me wrong, I do not want to lose sight of the memo - that is too important. But I also know that the media is not going to cover the memo whereas at least the bombs were covered for five minutes. That information got out to the people and it is like we are living in a Stepford society. This is driving me nuts. What will it take to get these people to wake up?
Sorry, I needed to vent. Thanks for listening.
