How many soldiers will have to die in one day for there to be ...
overwhelming public outrage at this war? Will it take another MArine barracks bombing like Lebanon in 1982?

1. It's getting to be like the news from the West Bank
"oh well, another couple of them killed. well they signed up for it and they are 'protecting our freedoms'. there's no draft, why is anyone complaining. gotta get saddam. he was a really bad guy. iraqis are better off now. oh, two more killed, or was that from yesterday? nevermind. who are the rams playing sunday?"

It's getting be be "normal" background noise for must Murkans. It's ghastly how Rove does evil shit and then figures out how to drive the failures into the background.

2. Considering the Propaganda of Goebbels v2.0

Maybe more.

The Memory Hole is powerful, and the Busheviks are, where they cannot or will not do direct Soviet-style scrubbing (though they have begun with a trickle that will eventually become a Soviet-style flood) simply have their Octupussies in their Party-Loyal Right-Wing Sub-Media squirt noisy ink into the atmosphere until people throw up their hands.

Sorry, but that's how I see it. May I be wrong wrong wrong...

5. For some reason, the news is obsessed with this hurricane today.
Ya know, it's not even a big-bad-mean hurricane. So it's raining on the east coast? Big honkin' deal.

Hurricane, schmurricane... I'll bet Isabel doesn't kill 8 today.

Sad state of affairs, isn't it, lebkuchen?

6. 8 should be enough, but it won't. I think it will take 20 to die in one
day and FINALLY there will be outrage.

That's of course if "Pravda" reports it.

7. Of course, we're assuming that recruiting and retention is going to
replace those who're killed or have had enough. Not ruddy likely . . . What does the Bush cabal do when they run out of cannon fodder?
