Interesting abortion aspect on "House"
Don't read if you have not seen tonight episode.

A 12 year old girl was bleeding inside her body and had some neurological difficulties. The final diagnosis was pregnancy and TTP. She was offered abortion and plasmapheresis.

She told Dr. House not to tell her parents and his reply was something like: this is New Jersey and your are the boss - and did not tell.

In the end we saw here with her parents telling them and they forgive and hug her.

I think that this shows that, really, the girl is the best judge of how her parents would react and, two, while a rare illness, that pregnancy can pose health hazard to the woman - for those who chastise women who choose abortion for "convenience."

1. House is a good show
...even if it is on F-O-X *shudder*

His character is a respectable curmudgeon.

4. Thanks, I couldn't remember the actor's name.
His eyes are kinda spooky, aren't they?

3. That was really an interesting twist.
I really like "House." The lead character is very funny and twisted. And there is a love interest in spite of his behavior.
Bringing real ethical/medical issues to light is a great bonus.

5. Not convenience
I don't think someone in that position would be chastised for having an abortion out of convenience... if she had internal bleeding and her life was at risk, then having an abortion would be what is required to save her life.

Plus, if she died, there wouldn't be a baby anyway...

6. You see, you are thinking of the life of the person who is actually
here, actually of the child who is actually here. That is not allowed by the so called pro-lifers.

7. I don't know about that...
All the pro-lifers I know do not have a problem with abortions when the mother's life is in danger.

I agree, but from what I have read and heard through personal experience, I found that most would support abortion if the mother was in danger.
