Only to reject him 90 days later?

Right now one of the problems those who refuse to examine the question of the election day theft need to consider is this: some polls TODAY show that Bush has a 43% satisfaction rating. His inauguration was only three months ago - already we hate him? Do you really believe that people voted for this man in overwhelming proportions? Only to reject him 90 days later? What's going on here?

3. You know...
...I have rejected the whole election theft scenario. But it's becoming increasingly difficult. It would be one thing if it simply had been a case of a contradiction with the exit polls. But instead, it appears that the ONLY poll in which Bush led was on election day. It's very, very odd, imo, and puts tampering on the table.

So while I don't accept that the election was stolen, I am far less dismissive than I was initially.

Bradblog (bradblog.com). They've been still working on it and keep things updated. Also go to http://www.bushflash.com/media.html and watch the video "Stolen Election 2004." Also check out on cspan.org in the video search engine and type in "Cliff Arnebeck" and look for his interview on the Washington Journal. Oh and also at http://www.votecobb.org he has good info and video's.

7. Sometimes I wonder
if he really wanted it or if Cheney, Rove and his wall street friends do? He hardly did any effort in campaigning.

9. I'll Start Believing When I See Numbers in The 30s
I remember when Nixon hit those numbers in his later days.

Raygun had numbers like Bunnypants for a majority of his second term but that didn't seem to make a difference then and I assure you it won't mean a thing to this regime now.

While the Repugnicans want to keep their numbers high, the big players in this regime have no need to anymore. Bunnypants will go into splendid "retirement" in Ninetendoland, Rove moves on to pundit nirvana as the ultimate guru, Cheney finally cashes out all those options and Rummy got to fight this war. What else is left?

People still aren't pissed off enough. They don't connect their problems with this regime...or if they do, it's in disgust with politics overall and they've tuned out our side as well.

12. The answer lies in his polling on terrorism which he handily
wins the majority.

That's what did it - enough people plugged their nose and voted on this issue.

And it's not that outrageous. I've seen it at work - someone kept around despite enormous faults because of perceived need in one area - and I've seen that turn around just as much in as short a time.

Hell, I've done it myself. I had a boss who was a nutjob but I defended keeping around because he was making headway in one crucial area. But even after that I reached a point at which I said "He's too fucking nuts - he has to go."

13. Too bad you've stuck to the two hour story...
Edited on Fri Apr-29-05 10:44 AM by libertypirate
on terrorism. The story two hours after the events that has never changed. Never tweaked and with all the intelligence failures we have had, they were intelligent enough to know who had done the attacks 2 hours later.

Do you want to buy a bridge?

Nothing stays that close to the original story. Did you know there is video of 9-11 that has never been shown on TV since the live broadcast? A reporter near the base of the towers reported that the planes did not have windows.

The information is public; you just have to want to look to see it.

16. It's not a matter of what I buy but what the electorate buys.
And when the question is: how could an electorate so down on Bush elect him, that's the answer.

14. I wish you were right, but...
I don't think he won by overwhelming margins, did he? Overall, more people voted against him than any sitting president in history. 1.5 million votes isn't an overwhelming margin if viewed nationally. I don't think it takes a huge amount of movement, poll wise, for him to drop for a 51% majority in the election to a 43% minority, given that he's trying to work against several unpopular issues right now.

The thing to remember is, the vast majority in the 'middle', ideologically, are easily moved from one extreme to another by issues. You and me, we're always gonna be left-wingers, just as the people at FR are always gonna be right-wingers (well, we can always hope about that). But the majority in the middle is fluid in their opinions, and barely owe any loyalty at all to party politics.
