Here is the question..Should the US be a Secular Nation?
I don't care what history you can dredge up answer the question. Should the US be a Secular Nation. If the answer is no then I don't wish to live here. The US has made many mistakes in the past but it is the future we need to be concerned about. This question needs to be asked point blank to Tom Delay and Frist and Bush* and every other Republican out there. Then have the definition of Secular handy..

1. yes-without a doubt. I believe it was meant to be and examples of
other countries that have a theocracy prove that it is a terrible danger to what I believe to be freedom.

7. Ask anyone you know -
do you want to live in a country where you have no freedom of choice and laws are based on the bible?

What do you think they'd say?

9. YES YES YES!!!
We were ALMOST there from 64-80 and again from 93-00. OBLITERATE religion ENTIRELY from private sector!!!! In fact if we EVER get a Dem Pres. He/She should AMEND/REWRITE the Const. to EXPLICILY include seperation of Church and State.

10. Yes.
Otherwise, try answering this question: which religion should the US endorse? Remember, "Christianity" is a lot of different religions ...

12. and the Catholics
have the largest numbers !!!!!! If religion and state were to merge, then the Pope would have an EXTREMELY large influence on our legislature. Let the fundies chew on THAT for a while !!! lol

11. DAMN right!
I don't want to live in a country like that.

Anyone that's studied history even a little should know why the separation of church and state is a wonderful idea.

16. What kind of a question is that?
The US is a secular nation. The US has a secular Constitution. The US will be a secular nation unless you remove the Constitution. The US is not a Christian nation. The US is a secular Republic in which many Christians live.
