Edited on Wed Sep-17-03 06:03 PM by Patriot_Spear
I kept switching between the coverage and it was like an avalanche of bad news for Cheney; every report worse than the other.

They all kept hammering that Rice, Rumsfeld and Shrub ALL said there was no link between Al Qaeda and 9/11.

Is Cheney being sacrificed? Do they REALLY think the public is going to buy this ridiculous reversal in the face of their chorus of accussal against Iraq?!

Truly, today's round robin of denial was the epitome of Orwellian. How much more will the People take?

1. Let them eat each other
There's more than enough lies to pick the rest of them off one by one now that their insidious "unity of purpose" is lost.

3. Do you think they're trying to get a free ride on the storm coverage?
Trickling this thing out to take advantage over the general concern about the storm?

4. They lied in the SOTU and nobody cared.
This will blow over too, probably before the weekend news shows.

8. I don't think it will blow over this time.
However, I think Isabel WILL delay the political storm for a day or two.

10. Of course I hope you're right, but
after all these post-Enron months of refusing to get my hopes up, I
really did think that the lies about the air quality in NY would be the end for them. They murdered those people, even if they haven't died yet. But even that's faded away. Nobody cares how much they lie or how many people die as a result. No connection between Saddam and 9/11? So what? Saddam is a bad guy who gassed his own people, remember?

6. ....
They're not sacrificing the Vice-President. He has more of a chance of dying of a heart attack. I guess that's still pretty high, but you know what I'm getting at.

15. I'll believe it when I see it!
but that would be great, no doubt - Cheney gone to his underground bunker - for good!

- a joke, not a threat, to those at TIA monitoring this.

7. See my DUMPING CHENEY thread
...this sure fits. Rove is setting him up, and it's a major play to move The Precious Chimp to the center--back to Kompassionate Konservative land.

It was all Dickie's fault! He MADE me do it!

12. Cheney is being sacrificed
Only in the sense that he won't be VP anymore. He'll still be:

-Rich
-In charge of Halliburton
-In possession of lucrative contracts ill-gotten through war gains.

14. I think even the Pukes are getting scared of this Pax Americana crew.
After all the evidence is mounting that * et al knew about 9/11 and let it happen. The media moguls, assuming they were not part of the plot, presumably don't want such vile criminals running the country and endangering all of our lives for THEIR political purposes.

16. Cheney did his job for Halliburton, now he's ready to go back
to them.

Why would he want to stay in the VP job when he can go back to Halliburton and "oversee" the rebuilding of Iraq? And make those GOBS and GOBS of money that his being VP has facilitated?

I've often thought that Bushies might not want two terms, they might be in the henhouse just long enough to bail out and "go pro".

Let someone else clean up the mess they've made. Why not?
