Schiavo, Ethics, Social Security, Filibuster?
These are the issues of the "new" Republican Party since election of 2004. Do you see a pattern here? The intent is to make a power grab early, and each time, they have bitten off more than they can chew, it seems. What's next? This is the most radical group of my lifetime. Al Gore was exactly right with his definitions.

They started with the biggest prize, Social Security, and are working there way down the Democratic food chain.

4. Well powerless might be overstating it
It is overstating it, but they know their power isn't going to last forever, is what I meant to say.

3. we are at war right now...
between two opposing views of this country, the parties are the proxies...these are the latest shots.

i hope to god that this country hasn't completely jumped over the edge and that there are still enough good people to defeat this conservative-reactionary-facist threat.

the past couple weeks have made me optimistic, with a couple long overdue victories, ethics committee, bolton etc...the dems standing up to the rethug over-reach and lust for power and the public seemingly on our side...but then i had flashbacks to the election and how i felt then and i made me scared again.

all we can do is fight back.
