Judging Amy was spot on last night
Talking about the cuts in public assistance; "We're living in a Dickens novel".

and my favorite:
"Vote the heinous budget slashers out and elect someone with some fiscal responsibility".

I loveeeee this show!

1. Yes I thought it was great too
But it's set up so perfectly to close some stories that I'm afraid they are going to pull it after this season closes. I thought last night's show was great though and look forward to next week.

4. I actually took it as closing some stories
so they can open some new ones. I think they are going to send Amy to Washington--her staff will be Donna and Bruce (with Donna as a child advocacy attorney and Bruce moving forward to receiving a degree in psych).
My take on the show (and I may be dreaming) is that the writers seem to be very liberal.
Perhaps they want to show more of what is going on this country as far as budget cuts, etc, to in an artistic venue of course.
Best way to do it is to send in a new Democrat to Washington to shake things up.
That's what I see happening and I hope I am right and you are wrong--I've seen almost every episode and it is one I would miss.

7. I hope you are right
I would love that if that happened like you said. I had just heard that Judging Amy might not come back cause of ratings or something like that. I love all the characters and actors for that fact.

I was in DC at the March before the Iraq war started and Tyne Daly was one of the speakers, I will never forget that.... even though there were 1/2 million people there that day I was like 30 feet from her when she was speaking.

2. Judging Amy is fantastic.
I agree- it's a great show. Tyne Daly (sp?) is perfect for her role. I'm very glad to see her on a popular show again; she deserves it in spades. She's a great actress- and it seems to me her own personality comes out in her roles.

5. She is one of my favorites too
Always has been.
What a family she comes from!
Her grandfather was Chief Justice Earl Warren on the Supreme Court. I wonder how that influenced her political decisions?
Her father was on Medical Center and her brother on Wings.
She married a black man during the 60's and is a staunch feminist.
She is the fabric of America.

6. Ahhhhh - that's why I love her so much
I didn't realize her background - besides agreeing with her politically, she's an amazing actress.

8. The black man that she married was
Clarence Brown, who was on Mod Squad, at the time. He is now on Hallmark's channel, Mystery Woman. He and Tyne are still friends, as he has appeared on Judging Amy. If fact their daughter played Bruce's love interest for awhile. She was the activist.

There are many shows that are taking pot shots at this administration. The ones that are most obvious are the CSIs, Law and Orders, and Boston Legal. It is exactly what is needed and wanted right now, as we have such a little voice in the MSM news.

10. One minor correction
Her husband was Georg Stanford Brown who played Clarence on Mod Squad. That was one of my favorite shows when I was a kid.
I didn't realize that Zola was their daughter--that is cool. She is a pretty girl. Learn something new everyday!

3. Why do you suppose these script writers do better than the people
we elect to office? I mean that on BOTH sides too! I watch Judging Amy every week, but I also watched West Wing. You can't help watch an episode and say "Why can't our real officials and social service employees act like this?

I used to think the only ones you heard about were those who were loudmouth adtivists, but I've come to the conclusion that the officials only care about looking good and getting reelected, and the SS employees are just so over worked, understaffed,, and underpaid, they've all but given up.

9. And in "Gilmore Girls"
The daughter, Rory, had a poster on her wall that said "THE WAR ON CHOICE". But that show is always dissing the Repugs.
