Bush reviews plan by Saudi Arabia to produce more oil
I find this amusing. Oil prces have continued to increase even though the number of barrels produced per day has increased significantly over the past three years. This administration refuses to acknowledge that we need to promote alternatives to oil/gas burning vehicles and we need to focus on conservation.
Another example of our glorious leader failing to address an important issue in a substantive way.

Experts hear oil depletion fear
by Staff

The world's oil reserves are running out much faster than industry and governments are admitting, a conference in Edinburgh has been told.

Experts refer to "peak oil", the time when oil extraction reaches its highest point and then starts to decline.

Many industry experts believe it will not occur until 2030 - but some analysts have stated publicly that it could happen by 2008 or even sooner.

About 200 people from various sectors attended the event.

Dr Jeremy Leggett, a member of the UK government's Renewables Advisory Board, predicted: "Most of us who are worried about this issue would say definitely it will happen some time this decade.

Snip ......

2. pure bs, It's Enron all over again .
Remember back when Cali was going thru blackouts and brownouts. The electric supplier (Enron) with help from the corrupt corporate media pushed the "transfer lines are outdated" lie hence driving prices to crazy levels. Now we have the same scenario taking place with petroleum. They say demand is overwhelming, our refineries are out dated and there just isn't enough to go around. Prices are skyrocketing and Bush and his band of criminals are walking around with huge smiles on their faces barely mentioning the issue. Except of course saying the only way we can address it is if they pass his energy bill.

I can't wait until the self policing is over and real investigations are started these bastards will be up on treason charges a mile long.
