I had a DU sticker and Kerry sticker before, but I took off the Kerry sticker a month or two back. Anyway, I would get the occasional W salute, but since the "he's lying again" sticker, every time I drive, I get flipped off. What's up with that? I'm starting to feel paranoid about parking locations, something that I never did before.

My bumper stickers are way more inflammatory than that and not one person has said a NEGATIVE word to me or flipped me off. I did have a guy park behind me the other day and when he finished reading all my stcikser he said.."Oh, that's GOOD! I like it!"

"Just Say No To Fascism"

"Support Bush? ENLIST NOW! Our soldiesr in I Iraq are DYING for your help."

"Keep Your Theocracy off MY Democracy"

"Don't ENRON-IZE Social Security"

"Liberal and PROUD of it!"

"Dear Troops, wish You were here." has an outline of the U.S.

MY FAVORITE..."Draft Young Republicans"

Where did you get your Social Security bumper sticker? I REALLY like it!

more liberal, but there are a lot of republicans here from what I can see. Lots of SUVs with W stickers. The rock critic? Thank him for turning me on to the Drive-By Truckers, I'm not sure I'd have paid any attention without the reviews.

56. No problems in Durham with my Impeach Bush sticker
I drive around with a "Support our Troops / Impeach Our President" sticker on one side of my bumper. The other side was "Proud Liberal" for a while, now has a DU sticker. I've never gotten so much as a dirty look. In fact I've gotten appreciative comments from people I never would have expected.

I've been "paranoid" about my bumper stickers before ... Dependent on where I was living. Virginia:I actually took fairly benign bumper stickers off due to the truly crazed right wing area I lived in; Delaware and Michigan: Any bumper sticker anytime.

43. Well, getting flipped off doesn't really bother me too much,
but I was surprised after having the Kerry/Edwards and DU stickers with little reaction. The tension level does seem to be rising. Maybe gas prices? Stock market bad news? I don't know.

Put the stickers back on and be not afraid. I just have to keep reminding myself to keep a sense of humor, and resist temptation to flip off every W-sticker bearing SUV whose cel-talking driver veers into my lane at 80mph on 540...

54. Never had a problem with stickers...yet.
I have a "No W" magnet, DU and "Proud Member of the Progressive Resistance" stickers and my Darwin fish.

I figured these were descriptive enough, but not confrontational and more would be overkill...plus there's only so much space on my little car.

There were plenty of others I've seen that I likely wouldn't feel confident to display openly for fear of Neocon road rage. Got most at Cafepress.com...great site.

Even though no one has acted negatively, I do get a little paranoid when I see some soccer mom/small penis road warrior in their SUV with a W'04 or troop-supporting ribbon right on my bumper.

In fact when I was rear ended two weeks ago, my first thought was surprise that someone hadn't done it sooner on purpose (this was not the case this time...just some dick tailgating and not paying attention).

But it's funny in the fact I had several of the fire/rescue people (a conservative group for the most part) tell me they like the stickers and inquired where they could get them). Think I inadvertently promoted DU and got a few more members that day.

I do think though with the rising gas prices, traffic nightmares (especially where I am) and well-publicized Neocon rant against liberalism, there is cause for concern about airing dissent, but as long as I' m breathing and the extremists control this country, I'll continue to air it, no matter the cost.
