Conspiracy Clark Becomes 10th Dwarf

Four-star, 50,000-feet high general Wesley Clark will announce he's the tenth Democrat dwarf in an Arkansas press conference tomorrow. The Village Voice's Richard Goldstein authored a story headlined, "The Great Butch Hope - Can Wesley Clark Deliver the Male?" Quote: "If Clark can make America see the difference between macho and masculinity - that is between a defensive response to women and a confident one - he just might earn the ultimate star as commander-in-chief."

…. This guy reminds me of the ex-general, mad scientist-type working to take over the world in every Bob Ludlum novel. Clark is a guy who sees conspiracy theories spelled out in his alphabet soup. Yet they're salivating over Clark on the Democrat side because John Kerry's effort to associate himself with the military has soured. He's talked about it so much that everybody is joking about it.

Now, those of us here who have questioned the amazing string of suicides/accidents that seem to befall those in authority who question Bush know the use of the ad hominem “Conspiracy Nut”. But why preemptively apply it to Clark? Is it possible that Clark may have the security clearance to know a thing or two about the activities of the last few years? Hmmmm…

I thought Clark's interview with Russert last spring was interesting. Tim asked Clark WHY he had been fired by Bush, and Wesley, (almost sheepishly) responded that he had never really been given an answer.

Answer: Paint him as a screwball, only do it gently. Sober doubts about what his POW experiences have done to him, in McCain's case, or in Clark's, whether he wasn't a hotheaded loose cannon in Kosovo, or as here, some kinda conspiracy nut (because he criticizes Iraq war). "There are those who say he's a little wild, a little unbalanced, but that's for others to say," that's the line for your candidate, while others hand out leaflets at the opponent's campaign appearances. Plenty of money for dirty tricks--cheaper than TV ads and in some ways more effective.

John Kerry's effort to associate himself with the military has soured. He's talked about it so much that everybody is joking about it.

I wondered why I kept seeing this goddamned joke at freeperville all of a sudden. Every post about Kerry somebody posts 'Did you hear Kerry was in the military?' Rush and Scaife must have decided the best way to deflect the fact that Kerry served while he, Bush, Cheney, and every other right-winger cowered at home is to make fun of the fact that Kerry served.
