After Skinner's post about the archived Pope thread:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x3469433I thought some of you may be interested that the webstats for my site:
http://www.seedsofdoubt.com/distressedamerican/main.htmshowed the library of Congress Minerva Project is crawling Distressed American as well. I presume that this may be an off shoot of the DU thread getting archived as I had a graphic posted there.
I for one an quite pleased to see it. I hope they archive the whole damn thing. Lord knows the server it is on will only last for so long. That has always bothered me about the web. I'm psyched that this project exists within the LOC. They of all people should understand the value of preserving these original source documents for posterity.
I'd like to think that my graphics and writing may be available in a hundred years as historians try to figure out the aftermath of the Bush administration, its policies and its appointments.
I do not subscribe the the paranoia about the LOC accessing my material. I put it out there quite freely to influence people. There is nothing I put on my site that I do not assume will be seen by The Secret Service, Dept. of Homeland Insecurity or whomever (Hi Agent Mike:hi:). So, I certainly do not fear it being archived with the premier library in the country.
Here's a newbie that I hope makes their archival cut:
