CA recall
How does the court decision change the election? To me it sounds risky.

2. throws a monkey wrench into the juggernaut
and uses Bush V. Gore against them. even if overturned,it puts scotus in an ugly position. Besides why not have the recall the sameday as the Dem Primary?

3. Well
I doubt that the USSC will involve itself after Bush V Gore. They didn't involve themselves in the NJ Senate race last year.

7. But, but, but, but, but........Bush v. Gore was NEVER to be used.
Never. Except that once. And maybe if another Bush got in trouble.

They used Bush v. Gore? One judge? A bunch? With a seriously twisty sense of humor?

5. Honestly, I think it's a win-win
If the desicision is overturned, it will fire up our base even more, and we already have all the momentum right now.

If it is delayed until March, I see support for the recall waning further. We can raise more money to fight it, I can't see Davis becoming less popular by March, and it will coincide with the primary, when all the Dems will be voting anyway.

6. I don't see the risk....
Davis can only benefit from time. Schwarzenegger can only be hurt by it. Bustamante is almost irrelevant, because his position is NO on recall.

Given 6 more months, I think Davis can improve his position. The ONLY one who benefits is Tom McClintock.

8. It's a HUGE problem IF the thing ends up
getting CA more computerized voting equipment, which CANNOT be guaranteed to be invulnerable to external hacks or internal malicious code.

9. Better turnout in the March election
There are far more registered Democrats in California. Also more time for fundraising.

More time only favors Davis.
