Which area or continent?

1. Considering the majority of votes lie outside of Europe and North America,
the people being talked about for Pope never become Pope and no one is talking about a South American Pope: South America.

6. True, true
But I'm hoping for Godfried Danneels of Belgium - SO FAR.

I'm still vetting (like it matters, I don't have a vote) the others on the list.

I guess "vetting" isn't a good word. I'm trying to LEARN all I can about those on the list and, at this point, I'm HOPING it will be Danneels.

3. I suspect
he'll be an old Italian.

I don't think the Church wants another ground-breaker right now. They'll probably pick a placeholder Pope while the Church figures out what direction it wants to go in.

18. Yep
You are completely correct... it has been talked about for years that they don't want another young pope right after this one.

4. Martini from Italy
This one's supposed to be "Gloria Olivae" according to the prophecy, right? How better to bring glory to the humble olive than with alcohol? Hmmmmm?

8. I heard a Nigerian is a strong candidate
I've heard they will choose someone old, to prevent another long term. The Nigerian (don't know his name) is, like, 70.

13. Francis Arinze

Considering that now the tensions right now are between the west and Islam, a man with a strong knowledge and empathy for Islam would be the best choice, as John Paul was during the Cold War.
