On the way to work yesterday, I heard mention of this alliance on AAR. I was surprised that I hadn't heard anything about it in MSM. BRIC stands for Brazil, Russia, India and China; the countries who have 'allied' to counter our threat in the event of another US-led invasion. It's talked about briefly on the following website:
http://mprofaca.cro.net/bric. When I googled 'BRIC alliance,' I was amazed by the number of hits. Am I behind in the news, or is the general public also unaware of this WWI-style scramble to take sides prior to a perceived future conflict?
Bric wants to challenge US hegemony. A balance of power is a good thing, but should we be considering additional invasions while the world allies against us? I have not yet learned whether or not these countries have signed a mutual non-aggression pact, but Iran appears to be moving over to their sphere. Given rumors re: our readying the military for a possible bombing of Western Iran this June, the implications of this 'scramble' are staggering.
