Delay upset that Liberals want Christians back in their churches

This section hasn't been widely released, but it contains the meat of his plan for the Cristofascists...

"One way they stopped churches from getting into politics was Lyndon Johnson, who passed a law that said you couldn't get in politics or you're going to lose your tax-exempt status, because they were all opposed to him when he was running for President. That law we're trying to repeal. It's very difficult to do that, but the point is, when they can knock out a leader, then no other leader will step forward for a while, because they don't want to go through the same thing. If they go after and get a pastor, then other pastors shrink from what they should be doing. It forces Christians back into the church. That's what's going on in America. 'The world is too bad and I'm going to get inside this building and I'm not going to play in the world.' That's not what Christ asked us to do."

Republican Congressman Chris Shays had it right when he said his own party is pursuing a theocracy. While Shays' dismay and openness are laudable, the media's cowardice in exposing DeLay is shameful. The third most powerful man in America is openly talking about usurping the constitutionally mandated separation of church and state. Because Christ asked him to

This is a post originally by Annabanana a few days ago. I just emphasized the Christians back in the church part.

1. What a narrow-minded idiot. If he thinks that the separation of church
and state started with LBJ, he needs to revisit history.

It forces Christians back into the church.

Now, if we could only get the media to play this as a sound bite over and over and over....

2. delay is an unqualified idiot. You don't have to use narrowminded.

All those chemicals he used while exterminating bugs affected his brain.
He is probably not any better off than all the kids in his district who have lost intellectual acuity from lead and mercury poisoning.

5. Agreed. My use of "narrow-minded" was meant to apply to the fact that he
apparently can't relate to anything he didn't personally experience or anything that happened prior to his lifetime.

Come to think of it, that's a fairly common Republican trait. To them, America began at roughly the same time as the Cold War.

it's a directive from Jesus....just in case you missed it.

Matthew 6
6:1 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. In this verse Jesus says not to let others see your good works, but in Mt.5:16 he says that your should let others see them.
Don't brag about the good things that you do.

6:2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
6:3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:
6:4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.
6:5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. Jesus tells his disciples not to pray in public. Those who favor school prayer, National Day of Prayer, etc. should take his advice.
6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
6:8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

more of. We need our own onslaught of religion. Liberal religion. Take back the country. Take back religion. Quit letting the American Taliban define the terms. Newt started this pitbull aggression of defining the battle. We all know the game now. Let's quit acting like we're still blindsided and get pro-active. Remind our good "Christian" brothers and sisters that there is more to Christianity than the male is the head of the household, gay people are damned, and science is incompatible with spirituality. Each time one of these hate-talkers starts ranting, throw Biblical verses right back in his face. Make him/her the violater of the principles they profess to revere. Show the hypocrisy.

9. Yeah, and Christ asked him to kill Muslims.
What a jackass.

Christ has nothing to do with his motivations and everything to do with his opportunism.

These people are being played.
