Seriously, why don't Falwell, Robertson, Graham, etc. march????
Obviously, if Falwell, Robertson, Graham, Himm, Haage (sp.?) and a number of these tv preachermen would go to Florida, hook arms and march for Terri, it would be a mega tv event. With the backdrop of Holy Week, their flocks would be rockin' and rollin' in the pews and they could whip up one hell of a frenzy nationwide. That's why I'd like to ask the following question:

These guys have worked for decades to bring their "Christian Revolution" (otherwise known as the overthrow of our government) into being. So why when the time seems so ripe, are they passing the opportunity?? Could it be that their corporate/Republican bedfellows have told them to cool it??

Did this unholy association originally attempt to use the Shiavo case thinking it would bring a nation-wide rage against 'liberal judges' (even though these judges were republican) and thus pave the way for their own facist judges - and then they got shocked when they found 70% of the people turned against them?? Did that scare them into thinking that the Repubs could get dumped over this and that would end the corporate gravey train?? Where the preachermen told to keep the faithful jacked up but don't let it spill out in the streets??? Why do I have the feeling if things had gone the other way and 70% supported the actions of Congress, that the con men would be marching this weekend???

13. Exactly
Yup. What I am reminded of. They obviously never read that story. And it is interesting how all their little leaders aren't down there with them protesting if they're so into it.

I'm talking Baby Graham....the guy who inherited Daddy's flock and is as slick as goose shit. I think the old man actually was sincere about his faith. This kid and his sister are in the con business.

4. With those holy-joe fat cats it would be more of a
waddle, than a march. They'd look ridiculous.

Of course, they are ridiculous but that's beside the point.

6. Oh, it's pretty simple...
If they whipped up a whole bunch more 'religious support', the Republican party would find itself in the very uncomfortable position (As you have suggested) of losing a large percentage of their base or overreaching their authority and bringing the hammer down on their own heads.

Even they know that cutting the diamond down the middle will shatter this ablated democracy and destroy their power base.

7. You don't think they aren't afraid of what their flocks are
capable of if they whip them into the frenzy you are talking about? That isn't what they are after. They whip their flocks to the point of frenzy to ask for donations, then it tones down considerably while they are reaching into their pockets for donations. The distraction works. None of them are stupid enough to incite an irrational mob in the streets. It doesn't suit their purpose anyway.

12. They don't want to be publicly exposed as charlatans and liars.
It's really that simple.
Sure they could all put on a dog and pony show and pray for a "miracle" but they know it wouldn't happen so they'd end up with shit on their collective faces. Wouldn't be prudent.

14. Do you mean Billy Graham? Because if you do, I'm not so sure
he'd be too interested. I don't know about his son.
