1. This story is not insignificant now that Congress has gotten involved.
Edited on Wed Mar-23-05 05:33 PM by tjdee
This is a major case which is pitting our legislative bodies up against our judicial ones.

This is a major case now.

But you can be sick of it!
I just want it to end.

2. fly what is not insignificant is the frontal attack
on separation of powers in the US, as well as states rights.

This is why this circus is NOT insignificant.

heck I do hope Jebbie EO the troops in, to increase the crisis.

I hate what this will do to this woman, but hey this crisis is upon us, you may be seeing the impossition of a police state, starting in Florida.

Shiavo may also be a Fort Sumter event if Jebbie does nothing... (aka does nto send in the troops) remember, Randall Terry IS involved...and this could very well be the begining of a hot civil war. And if it is... you and I will not truly know it until that mess is over and either the Union surivives or not...

5. It's NOT about Terri
Never has been.

Terri is like the kid who's between divorcing parents. Only in this case, one of the "parents" is sane, and one of the "parents" is as crazy as a gorilla on acid.

11. I think there's an air of expectancy over it
given that there's an endgame going on. Very few moves are left.

This is also a rather significant moment in the history of the country. The Executive and Legislative branches have banded together to attack the Judicial branch head on. This is not at all about Terri Schiavo, or Michael or the Schindlers, as far as the long-lasting repurcussions of the case go. It's really about the balance of powers and the state of federalism in the 21st century.

It's just that the human interest story is so spectacularly compelling.

happening to people in this country and elsewhere that are even more important and even more tragic...so where's the outrage for those people?!

Where's the media? Where's congress? Where's the courts? Where's the laws? Where's*?

Where's the outrage, tears, concern of the people?!

I am so DONE with this hype!

I keep wondering if there are just LOTS of freepers here on DU or is this REALLY what liberals care the MOST about?! :wtf:

15. I seriously doubt Liberals care
about the Schiavo circus, it's just that it's EVERYWHERE..hard to not hear or read something about it daily, or heaven forbid, have a friend who's a freeper, don't ask how THAT happened. Actually, she had me laughing last night, she was so dogmatic and in support of Bush and all this baloney with Terri, I just couldn't help laughing!:>)

14. It's way beyond Terri. Now it's the 'stupid congress' show.
The dumb Jeb bush show. The callous desperate Tom DeLay show. It's fun to watch naked politics with high stakes.
