Most Americans Hate Gov't Involvement In Private Family Medical Matters
So WHERE THE HELL are the national democrats on this issue? Why aren't they standing up for privacy rights? Why aren't they standing up to Delay and publicly calling him a monster? Why aren't they going on the nightly news and reading the "Republican talking points" out loud to the American people which describe how the Republicans want to make political hay out of this tragic Schiavo situation?

What the hell is the matter with the Democratic leaders?

2. There's gotta be one somewhere
maybe we can elect Gavin Newsom to the Senate and replace Feinstein with someone with guts.

There's not one national leader who can speak to this issue? This whole thing is so Orwellian, it's tragic.

3. I am not convinced that is the way to go. They are burying themselves
with this issue and perhaps Democrats are looking more dignified by staying out of it. I think we could definitely jump on the Talking Points Memo Republicans had on the Schaivo case though.

4. Disagree
This is where we should be standing up and calling them out. Matter of fact, this is a wedge issue. There should be constitutional amendments or referendums in every state in '06 and '08 which outlaw the state from intervening in private family medical matters concerning continuing artificial life support.

5. You could be right. They are probably figuring out how to play it.
This is just going to get nastier and nastier as the week goes on. Dem's will probably have to get involved sooner or later.

6. I don't think government WAS involved until her family went to the courts.
Unfortunately a lot of these things can't be resolved and the courts are invited in.
