1. The problem here
is that there is an assumption that the administration actually CARES about what the public wants. They have a mandate--and they do whatever the hell they want.

5. That and the fact that * only hears from the 20-30% kool-aid drinkers.
Since his "town-hall" audiences never do anything but agree with him and sing his praises, he is convinced America is being won over and the mandate is growing faster than the plant in Little Shop of Horrors.

All the better IMO, justs gives * more rope to hang himself with.

10. That's right. They are not out of touch, they don't care.
Why should they? Americans continue to vote for them.

Perhaps we should let the media know the GOP's radical agenda
is not elcome by normal Americans. Maybe then they would stop
catering to these nutjobs. I urge you to CONTACT the major
outlets as well as your local ones with this.

9. Please Don't Hurt the Red Staters'
heads with stats. (Not that too many of them hang out here). Remember, they go with beliefs and party dogma, not stats and facts.

3. Well, you've heard the typical Bush response...
" I don't know what polls YOU'VE been reading but the (better, more accurate) polls I'VE read say that the public agrees with ME that MY approach to (ISSUE X) is correct..."

11. Ah, but this has nothing to do with Bush
It's the 2006 elections, as well as the neo-con agenda for america and the world. Bush is a lame duck and besides, there's nothing to be done about him now. Think forward to when we have more of our government back!

4. Wecome Oxbow!!
It is interesting that more people are for marriage/civil unions than are against anything. The way the media talks, nobody wants gays together in any way.

:bounce: :pals:  :hi:

6. That's a good way to look at it
Edited on Thu Mar-17-05 05:28 PM by oxbow
It does prove that people are willing to have some sort of compromise on the issue, and that is hopeful. It's also surprising that even though most Americans disagree with the Bush admin's policy, his approval rating remains unchanged. IMO Its another case of personality over policy, as was the case with Clinton at many times

btw-is there any way to erase a post? That duplicate is really bothering me now that I've gotten the first one fixed

7. Editting the first post would have been the best way
you could cut and paste from the second post to the first one and delete all the info in the second one. Then put dupe in the subject line. You can not delete a post, though.
