Have you told your local AAR stations about Guy James yet?
Edited on Wed Mar-16-05 09:14 AM by SoCalDem
We got a new "progressive station" in LA.. KTLK.. They seem to carry most of the AAR lineup and Ed Shultz.. So.. I called the station and actually talked to the programming manager. I left a voice mail for him and he called me right back. We chatted a while and I complimented them for FINALLY giving the majority of LA area folks something worth listening to. I also "suggested" that instead of running "Best of" shows on Saturday, that he offer a gig to Guy James. Of course he had not heard of him, so I sent him to the website and begged him to listen to the archived shows.

I don't know if he WILL, but he sounded truly interested. These "new" venues are LOOKING for stuff to fill their air time. He also told me that he has hopes of finding LOCAL radio talent so they can re-instate REAL local programming again..

It's working.. they are starting to listen to us..

I think satellite radio has them all running scared :)

1. Us real folk can't afford
satellite radio. And, there are millions of us out there. Local radio had better pay attention, because they are missing out. And I think real people are tired of the hate spewing that is on all the RW shows, so the ratings are down. Many radio stations may believe that people are tired of talk radio. If you hear that, send them the AAR story, maybe you'll get a progressive station in your area.

2. There are more and more people going satellite, and just like cable
the price will drop as more people sign on.. I think that local radio might make a come back if they get busy NOW.. Anyway, it doesn;t hurt to call the local programmers and plant the seed :)

5. Since all we have here is "RW nutjob radio" there's nothing we can do.
I did email AAR and suggest that they add Guy James to the line up, as well as Peter Werbe, Ray Taliaferro, Bernie Ward, and my favorite Thom Hartmann. :)
