Why Is Hillary Considered "Polarizing"?
Because she tried to pass National Health Care and was endlessly demonized by the far rightwing nuts on talk radio?

Because she stood up and actually shouted the truth: There was a rightwing conspiracy to undermine her husband, because Republicans pathologically cannot stand to be out of power?

Because she has been relentlessly demonized by the rightwing attack machine for 13 years?

Sounds to me like those who repeat the mantra "Hillary is polarizing" are merely spewing rightwing talking points. You're doing the work of the religious rightwing. Congratulations.

And this comes from someone who does NOT support her for the nomination. But you can bet your ass I'll vote for her if she is our nominee.

1. two reasons
1. She's married to Bill Clinton

2. She speaks her mind, won't play stepford wife and bake cookies.

2. the right wingnuts
hate tough women. Look at rushbo and his calling feminists feminazis.
Women are supposed to stay home and bake cookies and make babies in their view. Amazing though two of the women they like Condo and Liddy Dole I find really obnoxious

8. The Republicans hate strong women...
when those strong women are NOT Republicans.

Just take a look at any talk show that has Republican women on and nearly all of them have long blond hair. If it is not blond it is at least long. They pass these feminazis off as being feminine yet they dress Condi up like a pornagraphic Hitler dominatrix. What they are doing is showing the Democrats that they can do or say anything they want to and they have the media and a group of supporters who will claim a majority in their favor.

Any strong Democratic woman is casigated however. Remember when Hillary was a long-haired brunette? Seems American women in the limelight must at least have blonde streaks.

12. Actually, she and Babs Bush both submitted cookie recipes
during the 1988 campaign. Hillary Clinton's recipe was pronounced superior.

Hillary Clinton is polarizing because morons are very obliging and will hate whoever they've been told to hate.

I don't want to see her run because I've had enough of the DLC and their candidates and their antilabor policies.

You'd think they might call her a Rino at worst.

5. She was the first First Lady not to act like a demure helpmeet.
And Clinton treated her like a co-president, sort of, by putting her in charge of working up the healthcare plan. The charge was that she hadn't been elected, although she could have filled the same role behind the scenes. I think in retrospect the Repugs had their sights set on Clinton from the get-go, and she was a handy target. Plus she admitted she didn't bake cookies, which of course is an unpardonable sin in certain quarters.

6. Uh, Eleanor Was Not a Demure Helpmeet
And actually, many of them, before and after weren't either. Mrs WILSON was actually running the show while Woody was having stroke and post-stroke.

That said, the answer to the o.p., "Why is HRC considered 'polarizing'?" Why, because Shrub is SO unifying by comparison (not).

17. Mrs. Roosevelt was not involved in administration policies & governing,
and it wasn't public knowledge at the time that Mrs. Wilson was standing in for her husband; that wasn't released till much later.

24. So "demure helpmeet" Has an Official Definition
of "not being involved in administration & governing" and that the role is not known by the public (apart from what actually was happening at the time). I did not know that.

7. People just don't like her.
I'm not sure why, but it has something to do with her manner. I must admit I don't like her either, and when I ask myself why, I come up with no answers.

10. That's the answer I hear from most people.
I like Hillary, but when I'm talking to people who don't like her, and I ask them why, their response is always that they don't know why. I think she just rubs people the wrong way, which is why I'm hoping that she doesn't run for president, despite the fact that I like her.

13. She's kind of humorless and shrill
I think it's just her manner. But it's a rightwing meme that she's polarizing and I don't think we should adopt it.

Apparently, in real life, she's warm and funny. Too bad that doesn't show up in public persona.

16. I'm not
I'm discussing her, as a political junkie, on a political forum because she's apparently leading in most polls and has the most name recognition and has the wind at her back right now.

This is a forum where we discuss things, no? Political things, no?

15. She is polarizing because
repukes and media whores say so.

"Some people say," and all that.

If you repeat something long enough, it becomes true.

19. Because if you say she's polarizing, and I say she's not
then we're polarized.

See, it's a self-fulfilling prophesy. Same as everything about the right-wing hate machine.

21. Isn't polarizing what we want? Isn't "of one mind" dangerous? Hilary
will lift up the Democratic Party and lead it. She will separate women who like to work outside the home and think it should be an option from others.

Neocons and rovbots want a one party state. That is why Karl Rove claimed that GOP would be in power for the next 20 years. That is why neocons took a page out of Disraeli's book and remade the Repukes into a Liberal Hawk Party that likes to use the tools of sociopaths.

Polarizing means she wins the election. It means she leads. It means she actually stands for something. It means that as economies trade with each other and compete... that the universal health care will be used and become the norm in all countries because it works better than the market only.

Mrs. Clinton is AMAZING. What people mean when they say that she is polarizing is that her support cuts the Repukes (& their new coalition of the backward, the elites and the centrists) in half. And she will win the Presidency.

23. when people tell you they hate Hillary, ask if they hate Bill
they will say yes. It's the same crowd.

It's also the same crowd who hates Carter. If you've ever met one of them you know there is no way to carry on a rational conversation with them.

I saw a segment on CNN one day before the election, interviewing people who worked in a sporting goods store. Half were voting Kerry, half were voting Bush. One of the Bush supporters said if Hillary was running, he would vote for her. He was the typical Bubba. And the other 3 people who were voting for Bush agreed with him. One said "everyone knows Hillary was the brains behind the Clinton presidency. I'd vote for her in a heartbeat." They all agreed, even those voting for Kerry.

One thing about Hillary's conservativism. Bill was conservative. Some of you hate him because of Monica but my biggest beef with him was that he was too conservative. Hillary is just being as conservative as Bill was.

Oh, yeah, and remember, Hillary started out as a Goldwater girl.
