Who will boycott Wal-mart with me?
Anyone listening to Mike Malloy? Truck drivers are talking about how they are charge a unloading fee at Wal-mart even though they are hauling Wal-mart Stuff.

I Personally will stop shoping at Wal-mart and even stop eating at Mc Donald's--who seem to be connected at Wal-mart's hip.

It is only in Produce and Food. I say send a message completely.

I know what you mean.
How can I boycott them when I haven't been inside one for years?

Anyway, Costco is way better - and not just because they support Democrats and Progressives.

5. I already do.
I was there once about a year ago. The heater went out at around midnight and the places I called put us on a list. Could have been a couple of days with no heat and it was around 10 degrees outside. So I went and bought a few space heaters.

13. I would love to join you but it's a problem where I live:
The WM is the only grocery store within 45 miles. They moved into town and managed to run off the only other one in this county. So our choice is to patronize it or drive 90 miles round trip to buy groceries. How can I resolve this dilemma?

27. We occasionally will make the road trip to stock up on non-perishables
but it's just not feasible to drive all that way for milk, eggs, bread...that kind of stuff. I have been sending emails and letters to "Save-a-lot" suggesting they look into buying the old Homeland (Safeway) store here that closed down a few years ago. I'm not any sort of grocery expert but I think they could take a LOT of biz away from WM.

18. Hey I do even more...
Sometimes I really need something cheap and I do shop at WalMart but then I like fill up a cart with tons and tons of stuff and then walk away and go pay for my one item. I figure they'll lose more putting all that stuff back than they can possibly make on me with the one item. Some people on DU say I'm shafting the workers when I do this but I figure anyone who gets the job putting all that stuff back actually has a pretty good mission: you can drift around the store putting all this stuff away, visiting, "having trouble" finding the right shelf, and so you kind of do some "research." Beats the hell out of running a cash register or stocking shelves with mass merchandise hundreds of boxes in an hour.

Its the piss poor employees that have to put that shit away, a better idea is just to either ignore the store, or go to the nearest Union and distribute their literature throughout the store.

21. Here is another truth about Walmart...
First of all I do go to Walmart, but for now on - NO.

Second, I will go to Walmart for Bagels. Here is something actually that we can sue these pricks on... They ALWAYS mismark prices. You get up to $3 or less for every mismarked item. But, get this... I have been buying bagels for the last 4 months all at the mismarked price and I go to Customer Service and get the bagels for free. The bagels are 2 for $4 and it always rings up at $2.57. So I get them for free. Each and every time I 'get my free bagels' at customer service, I say "you know you rip off innocent customers by charging the incorrect price". Yes, the last 4 months I say this and they do not change the price. I can only say this has to be illegal.... Any lawyers want to take on Walmart?

I will never go there again - except to get my free bagels. You might consider 'hunting' down mismarked items to get them for free.

My final comment - don't go to MacDonald's-it really isn't food.

31. Times I may have to
We have a Kmart, Target, and Krogers. That is it. Krogers charges too much for food and Aldi's doesn't have everything I need. Target has neat stuff but no food. So it's to Wal-Mart at times though I hate it. Even the lobsters are from another nation.

I, for one, welcome any competition to Wal-mart. As long as it's American.

But I spend very little money there when I do. Basically, if every customer bought as little and as infrequently as I do at Wal-Mart, they'd be bankrupt. My dad is the real problem. He's a yellow dog Democrat but he has no problem shopping at Wal-Mart every Sunday.

My Mom bought me some pants from them but I didn't have anything to do with that. If it's me going out and buying stuff I stay away from Walmart. For shopping with clothes and other stuff I head to Target. They do donate to the republicans but according to the buy blue site only like 13% so it's a lot less then Walmart does.

42. Already have.
I grew up in a very small town in the UP of Michigan. There were lots of nice little shops owned by people you knew - and they knew you, you kids, your background - you were friends. Wal-Mart came in on the other side of the river and that was the end of that. I have never set foot in a Wal-Mart and never will. And just to keep my conscience clear, I have never owned a product by Nike either.

When I visit MI it's not even an option anymore. I don't even acknowledge it as a location to comparison shop anymore, it's as if it doesn't exist in my town for me. I once had a friend ask me if I wanted to go and I was all "we have one?" And I had honestly forgotten we'd had one for ten years because my mental block was so well built.
